Stardew Valley Archipelago is compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6 on all 6.x.x versions, starting November 26th 2024

StardewArchipelago is an implementation of Stardew Valley for Archipelago.

We have a Dedicated Discord Server!

Archipelago is a multiworld multi-game randomizer. It is a cross-game modification system which randomizes different games, then uses the result to build a single unified multi-player game. Items from one game may be present in another, and you will need your fellow players to find items you need in their games to help you complete your own.

More information on the Archipelago Ecosystem

This mod allows Stardew Valley players to take part in the adventure!

A Stardew Valley seed allows the player to choose from a large selection of goals:

Objectives that will contain randomized multiworld items:
  • Community Center Bundles
  • Mineshaft chest rewards
  • Story Quests
  • Traveling Merchant Items
  • Ginger Island Parrot upgrades
  • Isolated objectives such as the beach bridge, Old Master Cannoli, Grim Reaper Statue, etc

Furthermore, the player can customize their experience by adding, optionally, the following objectives as well:

The Multiworld will contain rewards for the Stardew Valley player that are equivalent to every objective that they have randomized in their world.

Seasons Randomizer
  • All 4 seasons will be items, and one of them will be chosen randomly and added to the player's starting inventory
  • At the end of each month, the player can choose the next season, instead of following the normal order. They can only choose seasons they have received unless they disabled the seasons randomizer.
Cropsanity
  • Every seed in the game starts off locked and cannot be purchased from any merchant. Their unlocks are received as multiworld items, with a free sample of one seed for each.
  • The way merchants sell seeds has been changed considerably for balance and more lore-accuracy. Pierre sells fewer seeds at a high price, while Joja sells unlimited seeds at a significant discount, but the player must purchase them in huge packs, not individually.
  • Growing each seed the first time sends a location check
Museumsanity
  • The items that are normally obtained from museum milestones are added to the item pool. Some items, like the magic rock candy, are duplicated for convenience.
  • The traveling merchant now sells minerals and artifacts, with a strong bias towards undonated ones, to mitigate the effect of RNG on the run. The player must receive "Metal Detector" items for this to happen.
Tv Channels and Babies
Trap Items
  • Optionally, players can choose to add traps to their world. They can customize the difficulty of the traps, to spice up the experience

The Following items have also been added to the item pool, for Quality of Life and streamlining of the Archipelago Experience:
  • Wizard Buildings
  • Return Scepter
  • Magic Rock Candies
  • Various machines and wallet items
Some brand new, custom modded items are also shuffled into the item pool:
  • Arcade Machine buffs (Only if the arcade machines are randomized)
- Journey of the Prairie King has drop rate increases, extra lives, and equipment
- Junimo Kart has extra lives.
  • Permanent Movement Speed Bonuses (customizable)
  • Permanent Luck Bonuses (customizable)
  • Traveling Merchant buffs

Other features that will impact gameplay, but are not items being shuffled into the multiworld
  • Entrance Randomizer
  • Gifting items to other worlds - Now includes worlds that are not Stardew Valley!
  • Optional shared bank account to transfer money between players, for a fee. This feature is cross-game, altough other games may define their currency differently. For example, Factorio uses energy as currency.
  • Minor rebalances of some game mechanics

Future Versions

The official released version of Stardew Archipelago is version 6.
Version 7 is currently in-progress, and you can follow its development cycle on the Archipelago Discord Server

Suggestions are welcome!

Multiplayer

Local (several players on the same farm) Multiplayer is not supported at this time. The intended Archipelago experience is cross-world multiplayer. In the case of Stardew, this means having several players on their own Stardew Valley Farm.

You can use the in-game chat to talk with other players even in different games entirely, as long as their game also supports chatting.
You can gift item to and from other players through the mail system, and share money through the banking feature.

Other Mods

StardewArchipelago offers support for a limited number of other mods. Adding these mods to your world through the yaml file will include them in the randomization! Check out the Supported Mods Guide for instructions.

What is randomized in each mod depends on the mod content. Any content that fits the existing settings will get randomized (ex: new Entrances, new NPC hearts, new skills). Furthermore, some mods have exclusive new randomized content that fits the general concept.

List of supported mods:
Some of these mods might need a patch mod to tie the randomizer with the mod. These can be found here

While you can use other, unsuported mods with StardewArchipelago, it has not been designed with that in mind. Unsupported mods will not include randomized content.
Small, Quality of Life mods are usually welcome, while Big overhaul mods that interact directly with the same game elements as StardewArchipelago can cause conflicts and bugs.

If a problem arises, it is usually easy to disable the conflicting mod and continue playing.
