There are two primary functions of this mod. The first is that it adds the ability to put legendary fish into fish ponds in the first place. The second is that it adds the ability to get handpicked items from each fish, and which items you get from which fish is based on the fish's theme/home environment.
The mod acknowledges that the sell price for legendary fish roe, especially that of Legend and Legend II, are absurdly profitable, far better than anything that can be gotten from fish ponds in vanilla Stardew Valley. For that reason, some balance has been added to ensure the legendary fish ponds have a high-investment/high-return model to them. For one thing, their full potential isn't unlocked until they reach 10 population. Your chance to get roe will scale directly with the population in each pond, and won't be likely to produce more than one or two roe at a time until 10 population. Additionally, the ponds will not produce any items other than roe until the pond reaches 10 population.
Below is a brief detailing of some of the features of these ponds, with some specifics:
- All legendary fish, at 10 population, have a very small chance of producing either a prismatic shard or 5 Qi gems, depending on if the fish is from the first five or from the Qi quest, respectively.
- The chance of roe starts at 25% per day at only one fish, and scales upwards each couple of fish produced, until eventually reaching 80% per day.
- All legendary fish ponds will have "population gates", set up every 2 fish. 1 -> 2, 3 -> 4, 5 -> 6, and 7 -> 8. The final item requested in each pond will be a prismatic shard (except Legend and its successor, which will both request two).
- The legendary fish have the longest spawn times of any fish in the vanilla fish ponds, the only exception being Angler and Ms.Angler which both have a spawn time of 5 days, which is tied with the Lava Eel.
Attached in the mod folder is a text file called README.txt with exact outlines of the behavior of each fish pond, similar to what one would expect in the fish page from the player wiki.
UPDATE 1.0.2
Added functionality to change the color of the fish ponds based on the color of each legendary fish. Each color is based on a sample of each fish's color palette.
