About this mod

Put simply, your Farming level affects how much harvest you get from certain crops. It's one of the least used fields in the game (only used by Rice and Blueberries), so I gave it more purpose. Highly configurable from 10% more to 500% more (with name denoting how much you'll get based on your farming level).

Your Farming level affects how much harvest you get from certain crops. It's one of the least used fields in the game (only used by Rice and Blueberries), so I gave it more purpose. Highly configurable from 10% more to 100% more (with name denoting how much you'll get based on your farming level).

It's very simple to add new crops if you want other crops, including modded crops, to also take advantage. If you want this to work with a modded crop, let me know which one and I'll look into it.

I made this mod in the spirit of how someone, who is very good at farming, might be better at harvesting and cultivating various crops vs someone who is not.

NEW - I made a similar mod, that could be a companion mod to this one, that increases your crop yield regardless of your farming level. You can find it here.

Terms used:
  • A hint - 10% increase
  • Slight - 20% increase
  • A tad - 30% increase
  • A bit - 40% increase
  • Some - 50% increase
  • A fair amount - 60% increase
  • Quite a bit - 70% increase
  • Bountiful - 80% increase
  • A lot - 90% increase
  • Abundance - 100% increase
  • Partial Insanity - 250% increase
  • Full Insanity - 500% increase

Note - You can go much higher than 100% by editing the config. There is one other mod I've seen that increases the yield of one crop (I think it was carrots or something) by 400%, which is a 5x increase. I chose smaller values because, as you can see from the Potato comparison, 100% increase is A LOT. 44 -> 228. That's a 318% increase. I tried it with higher values and it lags the game because there were so many crops to harvest.

Config:
  • Enabled - Whether the mod works. Default true.
  • Ancient Fruit - A hint (10%)
  • Coffee - Some (50%)
  • Strawberry - A tad (30%)
  • Garlic - Quite a bit (70%)
  • Cauliflower - Slightly (20%)
  • Potato - Bountiful (80%)
  • Blueberry - Bountiful (80%)
  • Starfruit - A hint (10%)
  • Melon - A hint (10%)
  • Tomato - A bit (40%)
  • Broccoli - A fair amount (60%)
  • Cranberries - Abundance (100%)
  • Grape - A hint (10%)
  • Pumpkin - A hint (10%)
  • Pineapple - Slightly (20%)
  • All other vanilla crops - A hint (10%)

Fun fact - Having Potatoes set to Abundance, being at level 13 farming (via Food), and harvesting potatoes in the Greenhouse will get you thousands of potatoes, which is very good money. That said, use as you will. This mod is to show that it CAN be done, not that it's a great idea.
If you have a suggestion, leave a Post and I'll respond when I can! :D

For those of you who don't want to remember that the terms are listed from lowest percentage (10%) to highest percentage (500%) in 10% increments (until Partial/Full Insanity at 250% and 500%), use the version under Optional Files. You only need one or the other, not both.

For those of you using the compatibility versions (such as SVE, Cornucopia, etc) - This mod will overwrite any changes that those mods make to the HarvestMaxIncreasePerFarmingLevel field in Data/Crops. Some of these mods, like Wildflour's Atelier Goods, also utilize the ExtraHarvestChance field which may cause your harvests to be much bigger than expected (though I don't really see this as being a bad thing). This mod does not modify the ExtraHarvestChance field at all, so YMMV (your mileage may vary) on how big your harvests are.

Translations:
Added the ability for you all to assist with config translations. To make things easier, you really only need to translate the crop names for everything and the config values for the main file and the Percentage Config file. Once you do that, I can apply those same config changes to all versions so you don't have to do so for each and every one.

To submit a translation, please post your updates to the Translations topic under FORUM so we can keep things organized and keep the discussions tab from getting overrun with translation files.

Thank you for any assistance you provide! If you assist, your name will appear in the credits section below!
