Author notes
Do not reupload this mod anywhere, please.
In case the mod will ever stop working after a BIG game update:
1. Content Patcher is doing the legwork here, so please don't assume the mod stops working when SV gets a bugfixing update. 99% probability that it is just fine.
2. If it actually IS full on broken, and I have not updated it_after_four_weeks_, I would VERY much appreciate you making an unofficial update to it, under following simple conditions:
2.1 Please post the link to update on this page in the comments.
2.2. This way I'd be able to see it and likely add it to the mod page here, with credit to you for reviving the mod, of course.
2.3. If I come back from hiatus afterwards, I would like to use your update for continued development of the mod (with credit to you, as mentioned).
Extra patches - please do make them! Don't forget to add a dependency on the mod you are patching, no need to add a dependency on RSSI. Let me know when you've made them, so I'll add a link here.
Bugfixes of some things I missed - send them to me, please, I'll add it here with credit to you for fixing.
Other than that, feel free to ask.File credits

Version 1.7.2
- Two small issues fixed.
- 1. As reported by ErraticPixel, Marnie had an infinite amount of grabbers. Now:
- You can buy an Auto Petter or Auto Grabber in Joja.
- Starting from lvl 5 Farming. No other requirements (you don't have to join them).
- Chance that one of the two items will be in stock = 60% for Standard mode and 30% for Hard mode.
- Price 50 000 G.
- Alternatively, there is a chance Marnie will sell either an Auto Grabber or an Auto Petter, but her price is... Well.. Unorthodox.
- Starting from lvl 10 Farming. No other requirements.
- Chance that one of the two items will be in stock = 5% for Standard mode and 1% for Hard mode. Very rare!
- Price is a certain purple item she wants...
- 2. As reported by bluesaceofspades, Robin stopped selling Furniture Catalogues. That was my bad, now should be back to normal.
- Two more details about the patches:
- 1. Another attempt at adding functional update keys, so patches would have separate version tracking. I REALLY don't want to include them all into one file or add any extra dependencies, so this better work.
- 2. Pets Enhanced and Strange Machines Revisited patches will likely not receive any future updates after this, as I have stopped using them a while ago. Should remain functional anyway, those patches don't do much. Also, Strange Machines have (or at least used to have) their own config where you can disable shops.
-
Version 1.7.1
- 1. Decreased Strawberry seeds chance to 5%, increased price to 500.
- 2. Changed Clint's smelting services: smelting requires more/less ore, depending on the type. After 8 Hearts with Clint - he decreases the amount of ore he charges by 50%.
-
Version 1.7
- Main change: RANDOM condition is changed to SYNCED_RANDOM.
- Because as kindly pointed out and explained by MAMAXDV3, the game otherwise would recalculate the chance each time the menu's opened.
- No more of that.
- Small changes:
- boringvlln.rshops_JEgg id fixed.
- boringvlln.rshops_Sweets chance fixed/changed to 0.6 in Standard (difficulty).
- Patches that needed an update to fix the same issue: RSSI - Cornucopia More Crops, RSSI - Cornucopia More Flowers, RSSI - Downtown Zuzu, RSSI - Stardew Valley Expanded.
- Other patches did not use that condition, so they are fine as they were.
-
Version 1.6.1
- Pierre's vegetables/fruit in Winter season will use price modifiers from 2.0 to 4.5 instead of a flat price of 5k.
-
Version 1.6
- > Stock Amount Randomization and Introduction of difficulty settings: Standard and Hardmode <
- 0. The amount of items is stock is now almost never set in stone (with some exceptions, such as unique items, carpentry, and festivals). Instead, we use AvailableStockModifiers to determine the exact amount.
- Common rules:
- a) Most items, with previous quantity >5:
- For Standard (S): from 1.5 to 0.5 Stock modifier multilply.
- For Hardmode (H): from 0.9 to 0.1 Stock modifier multilply.
- b) Valuable items with quantity from 5 and less:
- Stock modifier set, from 1 to whatever number is was (half lower for Hardmode).
- c) Rare items: Condition RANDOM 0.6 for Standard and 0.3 for Hardmode.
- 1. Regarding Clint's new ore smelting services. Clint will now smelt your ore for the price of 95 ore. (Instead of 8. What a joke. Sorry, Clint, idk what I was thinking destroying your prices like that.)
- 2. Clint (or I) miscounted with the bars after Joja Warehouse. Should be 10 Copper, 20 Iron, 30 Gold (before multipliers).
- 3. Clint only sells batteries when it's raining, and lighting rods - when it's sunny in town. There is also random chance, affecting the chance of them to appear: 60% chance for S and 30% for H.
- 4. Clint sells up to 4 Iron Fences (S), up tp 2 in H.
- 5. Expanded on the previous idea that Gus should cook more on the weekend. Instead of simply adding more drinks and sweets on these (Fr, Sat, Sun) days, he has an overall larger amount of seasonal food and higher variety (!) too. The cost of that - on other days he has less to offer, as he is prepping, budgeting, restocking, etc.
- Community Center or Joja Warehouse rewards (= simply additional non-seasonal foods) are available only on Mondays. And now are always off-seasonal satuating dishes (previously could be seasonal as well). Up to 4 for S and up to 2 in H.
- 6. Willy's Fish prices now aren't fixed and depend on the fish.
- 7. Pierre's seeds after CC will ignore shop price modifiers and will be increased in price no more than 50% (10-50). for both S and H, the amount is different as usual.
- 8. Pierre and Joja have flavoured juices (hi, Pam). Pierre initially has a smaller variety and stock, which increases after CC restoration (3 types - random select, 6 stock > 10 types, 10 in stock). Joja just starts with any type of these types possible, 40 in stock.
- 9. Speaking of flavours, Joja always sells Grape Wine. Gus starts with Grape Wine, but expands selection after CC completion, only for the weekend (Fr, Sat, Sun) (does not happen after Joja Warehouse).
- 10. Adventurer's Guild only sells its decorations to the worthy (90lvl in the mines for a Decorative Sword).
- 11. Dwarf sells up to 3 Healing potions in Standard mode.
- 12. Max amount of Ice Cream is 24 in S, 14 in H.
- 13. Overhauled Joja prices - to use modifieers for fruit and fish instead of flat prices. Adjusted the base amount (lowered 30% in many cases) to fit with stock multiplier. Made seeds follow shop multilpler.
- 14. Festival rewards amount is set in stone. Halved for hardmode.
- 15. H - AdventureShop: Boots, Rings, Weapons are twice as expensive.
- 16. H - AnimalShop: Marnie sells Hay for 100, stock of 20.
- 17. H - AnimalShop: Prices for her furniture are increased twice.
- 18. H - Blacksmith: The only price change is: Batteries start prices with 2k and increase to 2500g, if the CC is built.
- 19. H - Carpenter: Every single item in her stock has a 50% chance to not show up today.
- 20. H - Casino: Treasure Cheas as a reward can be bought with 1,000 QI coins, as per Schneitizel original balancing. (Standard is 500; still disabled by default.)
- 21. H - Dwarf: Prices the same, except for the furniture, that one double (2k).
- 22. H - FishShop: Willy's Weed is 200g. He is a fisherman, don't get any ideas now.
- 23. H - FishShop: Twice more expensive bait (including post CC).
- 24. H - FishShop: Bobs are 1500g, Crabpots 2k, Tanks 9k, decorative fish 7k.
- 25. H - Sandy: Mannequins cost 20k.
- 26. H - ShadowShop: Krobus will change twice as much for Sign Of The Vessel, and exactly 6666G for Void Egg.
- 27. H - ShadowShop: random chance on butterfly powder (0.3).
- 28. H - Pierre: Seed Maker has a 1% chance of appearing in Pierre's stock after Community Center restoration.
- 29. H - Egg Festival has twice less Strawberry in stock and it is twice as expensive (including the post CC restoration rewards).
- 30. H - Festivals in general - each configurable individually as before - in hardmode have twice less stock and prices twice as high.
-
Version 1.5
- Conditions and Consequences update
- Clint:
- 1. He can smelt your ore for you! For a price. You give him 8 Ore - receive 1 Bar.
- 2. Starting with second year, random ore costs 800g (in prev version - 1000g).
- 3. If the Community Center has been restored, he sells 10 Batteries (instead of 1) and for 1800 (instead of 1500). (Because Joja Mart used to sell them too, but is now gone.)
- 4. Quality Sprinklers are only available starting with second year.
- 5. Cherry Bombs are only sold after the player has reached lvl 20 in the mines.
- 6. Bombs are only sold after lvl 60 in the mines.
- 7. Iron Bar initialy costs 1800g(in prev version - 1500g).
- 8. If Joja Warehouse has been erected (=Community Center destroyed), Clint increases metal bar prices and prioritizes the expensive ones. Copper Bars cost 2000g (instead of 1000g) and are available in amount of 15 (instead of 30). Iron - 2800g, 10 (not 1800g, 20 - before construction). Gold - 3500g, 20 (not 2500g, 10).
- Marnie:
- 9. If the Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), Marnie raises dairy&egg prices and increases the amount available in stock. Small Eggs: from 100g, 20 to 200g, 30. Big Eggs: from 200g, 10 to 300g, 20. Small Milk: from 300g, 10 to 400g, 15. Big Milk: from 500g, 4 to 600g, 8. Cheese: from 2000g, 6 to 3000g, 10.
- Joja Mart:
- 10. If Joja Warehouse is erected (=Community Center destroyed), you can find extra Spring, Summer, and Fall seeds available in any season. One position each, randomly selected from all seeds (including second year uncommon seeds). Amount: 50.
- 11. If Joja Warehouse is erected (=Community Center destroyed), Joja Mart adds two more positions of random Fish to their stock. One for 5000g, 10 in stock, and one for 10000g, 5 in stock. Not extremely rare fish, but somewhat peculiar delicacies (example of the first type - Red Mullet, the second - Octopus).
- 12. If [...], Joja now sells cooked food! 1 position (randomized from a limited choice of items), 20 in stock.
- 13. If [...], Joja will sel Ice Cream in the spring, fall, and winter. Amount: 40.
- Pierre:
- 14. If the Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), after dancing a jig inside, Pierre runs swiftly home to - you guessed it - INCREASE SEED PRICES. Since he is Stardew Valley's sole seed provider. While also increasing the amount of each position up to 40 (80 seasonal seeds in stock in total, 2 types, randomly selected). Prices are increased by a random multiplier (from 1.2 to 3.0), supposedly because as a small business owner he does not has a very steady supply and has to restock seeds for different prices.
- 15. If the Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), the amount of farming supplies, such as Fertilizer, will be doubled (no price change there).
- 16. If the Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), the amount of saplings will be increased to 3. Same random price changes as with the seeds.
- 17. If... [...], Pierre has 1 extra position of veggies or fruit (not seeds - crops) in the winter, for the same price of 5k. Amount: 10.
- 18. If... [...], Pierre has 10 more seasonal veggies/fruit (not seeds - crops) of the second position. Meaning spring, summer, and fall - he has 40 fruit/veggies in total, 2 different kinds (same as before, only amount is changed), randomized each day.
- 19. If... [...], Pierre increases the amount of common groceries in stock. Twice for Sugar, Wheat Flour, Rice (from 10 to 20 in stock). Bread: from 20 to 30. Sauces (such as Mayonnaise) from 6 to 10.
- 20. Bugfix for Pierre's item: Sunflower stops pretending to be a random flower selection in the fall (using RandomItemId instead of ItemId, when there was nobody else there).
- 21. However, all flowers now gain 50% probability to not show up in stock at all. You may get a seasonal flower, or you may not. Other seasons besides fall have a choice of two flowers each to show up (as before).
- 22. After Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), there is a 5% chance Pierre might have a Seed Maker in store. For 10k.
- Festivals:
- 23. After Community Center has been restored (=Joja Mart destroyed), Pierre will have 30 Strawberries in stock at Egg Festival (instead of 10 - without CC). They will be twice as pricey though (200g).
- Saloon:
- 24. The amount of food and drinks (meaning stock, not variety) has been reduced. Giving the man some much needed rest.
- 25. However, every weekend (starting with Friday) there are extra drinks and sweets available.
- 26. If the Community Center has been restored, Gus has 4 extra off-season meals. Or if Joja Warehouse has been restored - 2 extra meals.
- Willy:
- 27. If the Community Center has been restored, Willy increases the amount of Bait in stock, also increasing their priced twice. Bait: from 20 to 50, 5g to 10g. Deluxe Bait: from 10 to 20, 100g to 200g.
- 28. Bugfix: Strawberry Seeds have price 0 by default, so they are banned from the normal list and instead have a 1% chance to show up in stock, during the spring season, starting with year 2. In the amount of 10 in Pierre's Store or in the amount of 40 in Joja Mart. Price: 100g.
- 29. Nerf of the Coffee Bean. Banned from the normal seed list in Sandy's store. Instead there is a 5% chance Sandy will be selling it for 1500g, in amount of 10, during spring and summer.
-
Version 1.4cmc
- Removed seeds from festivals, to match the main file's balancing. Festivals are for fun, not work.
- Seeds formerly available from the festivals can now be purchased from Pierre's shop, there is a 5% chance one of them will be in stock during the summer season.
-
Version 1.4.20cmc
- Manifest mistake fixer.
-
Version 1.4.2cmc
- Removed seeds from Stardew Valley Fair, added them to the other formerly festival seeds: 5% chance at Pierre's during summer season.
- Manifest fix. Finally. Seriously, just what was that.
-
Version 1.4.2.0cmc
- Does this update matter? Will it change my life?
- No and... no.
- Just an attempt to fix the manifest. Zero effect on the gameplay or anything even remotely important.
- Feel free to ignore, apologies for the bother, but it was bugging me.
- Go do something nice for yourself.
-
Version 1.4.1cmc
- Removed seeds from festivals, to match the main file's balancing. Festivals are for fun, not work.
- Seeds formerly available from the festivals can now be purchased from Pierre's shop, there is a 5% chance one of them will be in stock during the summer season.
- Added seeds in both Standard and Hardmode.
-
Version 1.4.1
- Small bugfix for Robin's shop:
- Big Craftables sometimes were free, because no price was set for them. Now they cost 2000 G.
- And chest&log items now cost 1000 G.
-
Version 1.4
- This update is all about Marlon. I mean, Adventurer's Guild shop.
- Previously, the mod only added new items, such as gems and monster loot.
- Changes: all weapons, boots, rings - now are randomized and limited in available amount, in addition to vanilla conditions.
- Vanilla conditions for items to show up in stock are kept, but a little altered: items are grouped in categories to randomize them, so some items might show up a little earlier or a little later, than you would normally expect.
- Notable change for Galaxy weapons: to get one you need to 1. Fulfill the vanilla condition for a Galaxy Sword, 2. Bring a Prismatic Shard to the shop. It is an exchange.
- Monster Reward items are left as they were.
- Small addition: Rusty Sword Marlon gives you at the start is now sometimes available for sale also.
- A couple of decorative furniture items are randomized as well.
-
Version 1.3sve
- Stunky McDoo updated the patch, rebalancing the new items!
- I've looked inside briefly, and the new items seem to be some decorations?.. Peculiar indeed.
- Complies with the difficulty settings: standard or hardmode, pick your poison.
- Also there is a nifty trick to update keys they taught me, and I ought to apply that to the other patches to stop the false outdated flares. Does not affect functionality, purely a visual annoyance to fix.
-
Version 1.3cmf
- Fixed RANDOM condition, same as Main File 1.7 update.
-
Version 1.3cmc
- Fixed RANDOM condition, same as Main File 1.7 update.
-
Version 1.3ahm
- Updated to have varied stock amount.
-
Version 1.3.1
- Small fix for one of Marnie's items using the wrong id.
-
Version 1.3.0cmf
- Does this update matter? Will it change my life?
- No and... no.
- Just an attempt to fix the manifest. Zero effect on the gameplay or anything even remotely important.
- Feel free to ignore, apologies for the bother, but it was bugging me.
- Go do something nice for yourself.
-

-
Version 1.3
- This update is all about Robin. She gets to work a hell of a lot LESS.
- 1. Two vanilla ids I missed before are now also excluded, as they were supposed to be.
- 2. Added back Paintings and Lamps.
- 3. Added Day of the Week restriction to almost all goods, except (!) for the following three categories: Wood, Stone, random big craftables.
- Now not only will you be getting a randomly selected item, you will also have to be there on the right day to pick it up.
- Monday - Dividers, Logs, Bookcases,
- Wednesday - Beds, Tables, Fireplaces,
- Thursday - Stools, Benches, Dressers,
- Friday - Lamps, Chairs, Windows,
- Saturday - Paintings and Armchairs,
- Sunday - Couches, Rugs, Electronics.
- 4. Increased amount of Wood and Stone to 40 (from previously 20).
-

-
Version 1.2cmc
- Updated to have difficulty settings and varied stock amount.
-
Version 1.2boog
- Bird overhaul - Ornithologist's Guild has switched the item id for the Joja binoculars: it is no longer an object, but a tool!
- Pretty cool, actually, functionality wise, but needed a patch update because of it.
- Thanks to nexusemailnator for the detailed bug report.
-
Version 1.2ahb
- Patch for Animal Husbandry Mod (former ButcherMod). Internal version 1.2 for this patch specifically (main mod does its own thing, patches are separate).
- Does not modify any of the mod's files. Only adds some of raw meat items to shops (previously only accessible by butchering yourself).
- HAS a CONFIG setting: "Only Joja Sells Meat". Defaults to false.
- If you want Joja to be the only shop to sell meat, enable that setting (compatible with Generic Mod Menu, as usual).
- Otherwise, by default, you can find meat at Marnie's, Sandy's, and Joja.
- NEW in 1.2 of this patch: I have forgotten my own unwritten rule for this mod. Pierre does not sell animal products. Some say he is afraid of Marnie. Some say he doesn't want extra competition.
- So Pierre no longer dares to sell meat.
- Just like the rest of the patches, it only requires its master - Animal Husbandry Mod.
- Therefore it can be used separately from RSSI.
-
Version 1.2.0fm

NEW in 1.1 for this patch: Marnie's. - I just forgot Marnie's whole thing, and I don't really have a way to explain that. So there. Marnie runs a ranch.
- Just like the rest of the patches, it only requires its master - Animal Husbandry Mod.

What would Jodi, or Sam, or Pam even buy at the store, when it's all about seeds and farming supplies?
How is it that Pierre never runs out of seeds to sell?
How come Willy or Marnie never sell the products they produce to you?
This mod aims to carefully expand the range of items available at stores, while also liming the amount of items available.
Main rules are:
1. Vendors sell a wider range of items, sensible to their profession, and target other characters besides the player.
2. Items vary by season.
3. Items are not as predictable, many of them are available randomly.
4. The amount of items available is restricted.
Every shop has a settings that can be set to "Standard", "Hardmode", or "off".
"Hardmode" comes with lower stock amount, sometimes higher prices and lower chances of rare items. Changes to every shop can be disabled individually. Compatible with Generic Mod Config Menu.
Gus is trying to cut costs to make ends meet, so he primarily cooks from seasonal ingredients to save up.
Prepare for Parsnip Soup in the spring, Pink Cake in the summer, Pumpkin Pie in the fall, and Trout Soup in the winter (just some examples, actual variety is bigger, random rotation).
There are also some dishes available year round too, such as Pancakes.
Additionally, he serves alcohol, caffeinated drinks (and occasional Ginger Ale too).
He is but one man, so the amount of food he is able to cook is not limitless. He serves more food on the weekend, starting with Friday. And his stock can increase after certain events.
Pierre aims his store to be the one-stop shop of the town (but maybe falls a little short).
He sells seasonal seeds (expanded amount, including Strawberry Seeds starting from Year 2, as well as the new 1.6 added seeds).
But the seeds rotate on a random basis and the stock is limited. Meaning you may arrive to the shop in the spring to only find 20 Parsnip Seeds, and will have to come back tomorrow to have a chance to buy some Kale Seeds instead.
His stock starts as more limited, but can increase after a certain event.
Those without a green thumb come here to buy Bread, sauces, Flour, Sugar and such (also limited amount in stock), or seasonal vegetables and flowers (much less of the latter).
Caroline also helps out the family business now, by offering some Tea Leaves for sale from time to time.
Items from Pierre's stands are far less predictable and rotate randomly (except for the Stardew Fair, the one with tokens, it is left as it was).
Notable changes: instead of Strawberry Seeds Pierre now sells actual Strawberry. (Seeds are sometimes available at the shop instead.)
There is also Green Tea available as a refreshment.
Marlon has positively decided that adventurers need help taking care of themselves, so he now sells Life Elixir and Garlic Oil (limited amount per day).
He also sometimes offers a random Mineral and Gem (for a completely unreasonable rip-off price, but don't tell him that). So if you are looking for a gift, or need help with the Museum's collection, he can help you out (he does not sell anything impossibly rare).
Additionally, he has a bit of monster loot to spare. Another notable change: a certain special weapon can no longer be obtain for money, and instead requires a rare item.
Marnie now does not have an impossibly large amount of hay to spare. She has some, but maybe it's time for a Silo.
She offers a moderate amount of various Milk, Eggs, and Cheese, with occasional extras.
More complex items for sale are now more rare and on random rotation, she is running a ranch after all. Swing by her house more often if you desire a Dog House or require a Heater, don't count on it being in stock every day.
Clint would rather sell you Metal Bars and not ores. He is smelting them for a living after all. He has Copper, Iron, and Gold Bars in stock (a little ore on rotation too, but he doesn't like to share).
Additionally, he now sells Lightning Rods, Batteries, Starting and Quality Sprinklers (only those two levels, no higher), Iron Fences, and... Bombs.
Marlon still doesn't trust him to make weapons for some reason...
Some of Clint's items for sale depend on your progress in the mines, or even weather.
Decorating the house has never been so immersively inconvenient. Furniture has been divided into categories and randomized, what shall Robin have in stock tomorrow - nobody knows. The amount of items is also limited, as she can can only make so many items.
She also sells big craftables (machines).
As for the materials, Robin can not be bothered to spare the materials she needs on her craft, so she only sells a very limited amount.
Her stock varies depending on the day of the week! See spoiler, if you want to know.
Every day: Wood, Stone, a random big craftable. Monday - Dividers, Logs, Bookcases. Wednesday - Beds, Tables, Fireplaces. Thursday - Stools, Benches, Dressers. Friday - Lamps, Chairs, Windows. Saturday - Paintings and Armchairs. Sunday - Workbench (a random chance), Couches, Rugs, Electronics.
This part of the mod is an outlier, has nothing to do with limiting the stock, and therefore is disabled by default.
Only adds Treasure Chest as a reward for 500 QI coins, allowing you to exhange your winnings for money (by selling said chest for 5k Gold).
It is basically an updated version of Treasure Chest at Casino by Schneitizel. If you want the higher difficulty of the original mod, set "Casino" to "hardmode" in config.
No longer sells bombs, but is willing to share some juicy Bug Steaks instead. Also has a little of random small loot to share, including monster loot.
Offers either one or the other decorative item he normally has, randomly. Still offers Elixirs, but in much restricted quantity.
Willy sells a reasonable amount (!) of random common (!) Fishes of the season. He also sells some Algae of random variety, and a small amount of bait.
Fishing related stock is limited in number and randomized (which bobber will he have in stock - nobody knows).
Nothing unusual here, except for the limited amount of remedies available per day.
Is essentially a much smaller version of the Saloon inventory. Gus still cooks seasonal food, but he doesn't bring that much with him.
No Mango Wine, varied drinks instead.
Sandy sells seasonal seeds for a pretty penny (how many farmers you reckon come by the place?). That includes possible Coffee Beans, too.
For the common traveler she offers a small stock of snacks instead.
Her furniture items rotate randomly.
If you are on the lookout for a seasonal plant, she has them all (but you'll never know which one).
More item amount limitations, some items are randomized. Heftier price on a creepy new item from 1.6.
They have the largest stock. The seeds available are still randomized and seasonal.
They have vegetables, both seasonal and off-season (the latter being pricier, of course).
They have Fish (a little), Eggs (not large ones), Milk (only Cow Milk). As well as other groceries too, as usual (no Tea Leaves, however).
How could you possibly resist the temptation to shop there?..
Unfortunately, since this is a very manual edit, mods adding new items to shops would need to be patched to fit in (unless the author/s already made their items limited in amount, which is so very fantastic and compatible by default).
For more details on the patches see their changelog. All patches can be used independently from the main RSSI file. Every patch has its own version history, which has nothing to do with the main file version.

Ferngill Simple Economy
