About this mod
This mod adds over 4000 new lines of marriage dialogue for Haley. It utilizes Content Patcher's randomization function to create a more immersive, less repetitive marriage experience that includes a huge variety of dialogue for standard marriage keys, as well as post-marriage festival, resort and gifting dialogue.

Overview:
Ever feel like Haley's dialogue gets a little stale after you tie the knot? This mod adds thousands of fresh, randomized lines of marriage dialogue. It aims to make being married to Haley richer and more immersive than before.
From playful banter to heartfelt professions of love to moments of jealousy, this mod adds depth and dynamism to your marriage to Haley. It uses Content Patcher's randomization function to offer a large variety of dialogue options for all the standard marriage keys. You'll also find enhanced marriage dialogue for all festivals (through to year 15), resort visits, all loved and some liked gift acceptance (for diamonds, daffodils, rainbow shell, ice cream, coffee, piña colada), outdoor chores, and Flower Dance acceptance. There's also randomized dialogue for various dates specific to each season, the dates before most major festivals, and around Haley's birthday, to give you a sense of flow throughout the year.
I love Stardew, but I've always found the marriage aspect to be underdeveloped. The dialogue with your spouse starts repeating super quickly, which breaks the immersion for me. That's why I created this mod - to add so much variety in dialogue that you'll rarely see the same lines twice and have an incentive to keep talking to Haley each day.
I originally made this mod just for my own personal use, creating dialogue aimed at a female farmer. I've now adapted it for male farmers too, with plenty of unique male-farmer specific lines added.
This is a sweet, SFW mod. Haley will be affectionate and flirty, and there are frequent references to kissing and cuddling, but anything beyond that is indirect and oblique, in a style broadly consistent with the base game. There is no bad language. This version is the same length as the original mod but includes over 550 new 'sweet' replacement lines as well as over 700 edited lines to convert it to SFW.
Please note that this mod only affects dialogue AFTER marriage. It does not affect dialogue related to dating, engagement, or if you get divorced.
This mod is compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6 and the recent 1.6.15 update. It can be installed if you're already married to Haley.
If you'd rather play without the married festival dialogue this mod adds for Haley it may be disabled by setting "Festivals" to false in the mod’s config.json or by unticking the Festivals box with the Generic Mod Config Menu on start up.
Requirements:
1. Content Patcher 2.3.0 or above
2. SMAPI
Installation:
1. Download the .zip file. Ensure you have Content Patcher and SMAPI installed.
2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods (or wherever you keep your mods)
3. That's it, you're good to go. If you need to remove the mod in the future just delete it again from your mods folder. You can add and remove at will, it won't affect your save.
It's fine to install this mod if you're already married to Haley.
Compatibility:
Haley Ever After plays nice with almost all other mods as it only makes changes to Haley's marriage dialogue. Specifics are outlined below.
- Expansion and Event Mods: Tested and works smoothly with big expansions like Stardew Valley Expanded (SVE). Also works fine alongside event mods like Miihaus Haley Event Expansion and Date Night Redux. It should also be compatible with Polyamory Sweet, though that mod changes some of the start of day logic, so it may not be optimised. HEA works fine with schedule change mods like Immersive Spouses.
- Haley's Bakery: HEA now includes 360 lines of bakery-themed dialogue to enhance compatibility between HEA and Haley’s Bakery. This patches in automatically if you’ve unlocked the bakery (you won’t see any of this if you don’t have Haley’s Bakery installed). HEA adds bakery related dialogue inside the farmhouse, on the mornings and evenings that Haley goes to work (Tuesdays-Fridays). All other dialogue in Haley’s Bakery remains untouched, this was the only dialogue that overlapped between the two mods. Big thanks to kabulla, the creator of Haley’s Bakery, for letting me reference their awesome mod.
- Other Dialogue Mods: HEA is compatible with large multi-character dialogue mods like Canon Friendly Dialogue Expansion and True Love Valley. It should load last in Content Patcher so that Haley's marriage dialogue isn't overwritten by those mods. When it comes to Haley-specific dialogue mods, HEA works fine with mods that only adjust her pre-marriage dialogue, but if it's a marriage dialogue specific mod, HEA will likely override it.
- Portrait Mods: Most portrait mods should be compatible. Older, pre-1.6 portrait mods don't support the full range of 14 portraits that Haley now has in the vanilla game. If you're using a pre-1.6 Haley portrait mod that only supports 12 portraits, I recommend that you download the alternative version of Haley Ever After I've uploaded that is compliant with that older standard. You lose a little bit of variety as Haley's new sultry portrait is replaced by her neutral one, but it avoids alternating between modded and vanilla portraits in game. If you're using the un-modded vanilla portraits, as I am, or Stardew 1.6 compatible mods like Pelly.K's, Rosesong's, Fanki's, Sin's, Seasonal Cute Characters, or Inspired Haley that support all 14 Haley portraits, then please use the main files.
Future Plans:
In future updates I'd like to add pregnancy related dialogue for Haley, more liked gift dialogue, and potentially some heart level based marriage events. I'm also looking at integrating support for non-binary players. I'm currently working on Penny Ever After, applying the same concept to Penny's marriage dialogue.
Marriage Dialogue Trigger Guide:
I thought I'd set out the dialogue triggers because it's useful to know exactly when and where the game allows you to talk to Haley when you're married.
You will always be able to initiate at least two conversations per day (plus daily gifting, and resort dialogue if you've unlocked that). Dialogue is always available at the start of the day and at night. Sometimes, middle of the day dialogue is also available.
1. Start of Day Dialogue
Locations:
- In the kitchen.
- Spouse room.
- On the porch outside. (Sometimes for chores, sometimes for general outdoor dialogue)
- On the patio outside. (Every Saturday unless it's raining or winter)
Rainy days: Haley stays inside with special rainy day dialogue, unless in the spouse room (normal spouse room dialogue triggers instead).
2. Middle of the Day Dialogue
Locations:
- Indoors (11am to 6pm). This dialogue is affection based. It's good, bad, or neutral, depending on heart level. Available roughly 30-50% of days. You're more likely to see it with high hearts.
- Porch (11am to 1pm). Dialogue specific to being outdoors. Always available.
- Patio (11am to 6pm). Dialogue specific to being outdoors. Always available.
Viewable between: 6pm-10pm.
Dialogue specific to night-time, with variations for rainy nights. Can be anywhere inside the farmhouse.
4. Monday Specific Dialogue
Activity: Haley goes into town to visit Emily.
Time Frame: Leaves at 9:30am, returns at 5pm.
Type of Dialogue:
- Special morning dialogue in which Haley tells you she's going into town, unless specific date dialogue overrides it (this "fun leave" dialogue is frequently overridden by date dialogue as Mondays are always the 1st of each season, for example, and there is specific, randomized dialogue coded for those days).
- Dialogue when she returns, most reliable between 5pm and 6pm inside the house.
- After 6pm you may see return from town dialogue plus nightly dialogue back to back.
5. Dialogue after Children
- First week after arrival of first or second baby: Every start of day dialogue is child-specific, in the kitchen.
- After the first week: Child-related dialogue is sporadic, usually at the start of the day in the kitchen. In my play-throughs it's most common on Fridays.
6. Resort Dialogue
- Frequency: Once the resort on Ginger Island is unlocked, Haley visits on random days (about 1 in every 7-10 days). She leaves mid-morning and returns late in the evening.
- Dialogue is location-specific, with multiple different dialogues available as she wanders around the resort throughout the day. For example, there is different dialogue for Haley sunbaking on the beach towel, by the resort chair, at the bar, or on the shore. There's also dialogue specific to arriving and leaving the resort.
- You can usually trigger 3 or 4 dialogues per visit, out of 10 possible keys.
- Haley will continue to visit the resort after having kids. Yes, this means your children are left unattended! Great parenting in Stardew. :)
- Randomized gifting dialogue for all loved gifts, as well as the following liked gifts: diamonds, daffodils, rainbow shell, ice cream, coffee, and piña colada.
- One gift per day, as per usual spouse rules.
- If you mod the game to remove the limit and gift the same item multiple times on the same day you will get repeated dialogue.
Disclaimers:
While I've tried to include a ton of options for each dialogue key, the way that randomization works means that if you play long enough, you'll probably see some repetition at some point. It's not infinite, and the lines are random, so they won't necessarily play in order.
There's enhanced dialogue for all loved gifts (if you give Haley a sunflower, for example, there are 58 possible responses), but for liked gifts I've only added extra dialogue for six items so far. As mentioned, I'd like to expand this in the future. Disliked gifts still use the default dialogue for now.
