Inspired by Daisy Mae and the Stalk Market in Animal Crossing, turnips come to Stardew Valley!
Each Sunday, Pierre will sell turnips at a random price based on your Daily Luck.
You won't be able to sell them back that day, but each day of the following week, the sell price of the turnips you bought will fluctuate based on your luck.
If you do not sell them by the following Sunday, your turnips will rot and become incredibly poisonous and without value.
Future updates will implement gift tastes for turnips and rotten turnips, and will adjust the formulae for buy/sell prices based on feedback. Caps for how many turnips can be purchased may also be changed (as of the most recent update it is capped at 500).
I am happy to report that the artwork (which was originally AI-generated as a placeholder) has been updated with art made by a REAL HUMAN! Thank you to TheUnusualCreature for their effort and contribution to this fun little project!
This mod currently only works if your turnips are stored in chests on your farm or in your inventory. It has not been tested elsewhere. This will happen in the future. :-)
This is also my first mod! This was created with zero prior knowledge of C#, and incredibly basic coding knowledge otherwise. If you have fun ideas to mod Stardew, don't underestimate your ability to get it done! With that said, there may be compatibility issues with other mods that affect pricing of items. I may need time to figure out how to make these work. Feel free to lend advice on how to accomplish this if you are more accomplished in writing mods than I!
