> This mod is heavily inspired by obamoose's kitty cats mod <3 I am a big fan of that mod and it was a very helpful guide (as well as the Custom Companion's guide) for me in regards to how to code my own mod here! <3 > My deers uses the same color palette as Eemie's deer mod > My pegasus' design is based on Zhuria's Clydesdale horse replacer mod and jigajang's marshmallow unicorn > My wolf's design is based on tokiri's wolf mount mod

Pelican's spawn points were changed to avoid players potentially getting stuck after Willy's cutscene (remember: bigger animals can still be walked through if you keep pushing, just like with pets!)
Version 1.2.3

Change mod name from "SH's Wild Animals (SVE Version)" back to SH's Wild Animals"
Stardew Valley Expanded is no longer a requirement for this mod to work

Version 1.2.1
Added a new config setting "Allow WA Junimo sprite changes": Toggle on if you want the Junimos spawned by the Wild Animals mod to use a random set of junimo sprites. Toggling it off if you want to keep using your own personal junimo sprites.

Added baby animals (they don't show up as frequently as their adult counterparts however)
Edited how likely an animal would spawn somewhere and how much would spawn at a time
Made spawn locations a little bit more random
New animal behavior: Timid and Friendly. Timid animals will run away if the player comes too close, while friendly animals will follow the player around temporarily.
New setting: Animal Abundance Level: Determines how many animals can appear and whether there should be certain conditions to be met. High: Any animal can show up without requirements and will almost always appear (similar to the old spawn rates from old mod versions), Low: Animals don't need require any conditions to appear but still have a chance of not showing up on random days, Vanilla: Some animals have certain conditions that need to be met before they start appearing.

Some more animals have a small chance of showing up in certain NPCs' rooms
Version 1.1.6
Added 2 animals
> Crabs (these will not appear if you have my Beach Crabs mod installed) > Wombats

Adjusted spawn chances of certain animals
Edited animal data
Updated animal sprites. Animals with notable changes are the following:
> Geese > Pelicans > Sea otters > Swans
Version 1.1.3
Added more config options to give the player more freedom in choosing which animals they want showing up in their game! :D Pelicans and seagulls share the same config option because they are grouped together (sometimes you'll see pelicans, and other times there will be seagulls in their place)
Edited duck sprites
Fixed the pelican's idle sprites
The new config option "Allow Bonus Animals" includes a few (only 3 in this version) creatures that are added just for fun :D More of a surprise really lol So, I don't think I'll be descriptive whenever I add anything that's a part of this config

Edited the beaver and sea otter's swimming animation
Horses are no longer mod-exclusive and can now be found in the forest! (although it's only a chance of 3 instead of a whole group of 5 horses, in order to try to make sure that it doesn't get too crowded) note: these wild horses do not have galloping sound effects like the player's horse because I can't seem to figure out how to properly emulate that yet ;-;
Re-added the Platypus <3

Altered animal data: their shadows should now appear correctly
Most of the mod-exclusive animals are now available in the vanilla version: SVE and RSV is no longer required if you want to see the rest of the animals (a small amount is still mod-exclusive mainly because I'm not sure where to put them in yet)
Removed the "randomized" config setting, most animals are now randomized by default: animals that are considered as "solitary" in behavior in the wild are no longer guaranteed to show up in groups while the "social" animals are always in groups, a small portion of them also have a chance of not showing up at all
Some animals now have coat variants: foxes, rabbits, squirrels

MythicalCreatures' "easier" config setting has been renamed to "casual"
Sprite updates
Version 1.0.6
Added an "easier" config option for the MythicalCreatures part of this mod. This is so that you have a better chance at seeing these rather rare creatures while on your way to do daily tasks such as fishing or simply going to the town. This setting is recommended if you don't plan on seeking them out, but still want to see them.
Altered some animal data
Hopefully reduced the lag issue! <3
Skunks now have variations
Altered the config settings. To reduce the number of settings, I bundled some of the animals into groups (i.e. "AllowWildCanines" affects coyotes, fennec foxes, foxes, and wolves). Some animals that I cannot group appropriately however do have their own config setting (i.e. "AllowWildArmadillos")
Version 1.0.5
Added 8 new animals (3 of them are SVE-exclusive, while the other 4 are RSV exclusive) and 6 more rare creatures

This is the main version of the Wild Animals mod, which means it does contain content for the main game as well as for Stardew Valley Expanded and provides compatibility for Lnh's Ginger Island Overhaul. Please download Wild Animals Lite modif you do not plan to play with any map-altering mods such as Stardew Valley Expanded.
Here is a mod that I was thinking about last year, but I had no idea how to implement it until today. ^_^ I love Stardew Valley's critters, but I was a little sad by how I don't see them often (aside from butterflies and the occasional birds) and how they usually run off to hide in a bush/tree (it is rather realistic though). So, here comes my Wild Animals mod to fill that animal-shaped void in my heart!
This mod adds numerous animals to multiple places in-game, depending on the time, weather, and season. You are pretty much guaranteed to see at least some of the animals as long as you have access to the areas they spawn in. They tend to wander so you may or may not lose sight of some of them, especially if they wander behind the trees or in the grass.
Your first year in-game might not have many wild animals though, maybe the occasional squirrel and the friendly ducks that like to sit in the forest's pond. But the further you progress in-game, the more animals you may encounter! Maybe some of them would learn not to run away if you get too close to them...
!!! NOTE !!!: This mod will add extra load for your game to process because of the number of animals and their settings that determine whether they should appear or not on the current in-game day. This mod may cause lag! However, I personally have not experienced lag during its testing phase with minimal other mods.
Below is the list of animals currently included in the mod:

Features that I will not be adding: I will not be using the following ideas even if they are ever implemented to future Custom Companion builds
The ability to capture the wild animals
The ability to kill the wild animals (this will also depend on if there will be a new aggressive behavior added by the framework in the future)
Concerned Ape for his marvelous game that I spent many, many hours on. Stardew Valley will always be placed in a special place in my heart and I will never regret owning the game (thanks again to my friend who bought it for me a couple of years ago!) His pixel art and the color palette are undeniably beautiful and I tried to have my animals match the aesthetic. <3
Pathoschild for their modding API "SMAPI" and Content Patcher. As well as PeacefulEnd for their modding framework Custom Companions. These mods allowed me to create this mod. I've always wanted to have more animals in the world of Stardew Valley because I just love animals. <3
Obamoose for their Kitty Cats mod! The moment I saw that mod I thought to myself "Wait a minute... That can be done now?" and it spurred on this drive to work on my Wild Animals mod. Whenever I felt stuck in the little coding process, I did comparisons with their adorable mod's coding structure as an example (and of course PeacefulEnd's Custom Companions in-depth wiki was a great help and easy to understand). The Kitty Cats mod was a great visual for me while I was creating this mod (and I love cats, so this mod is definitely staying in my game) <3
Credits to Eemie, tokiri, Zhuria, and jigajang as well! I've used their mods long before I started creating this one and I adore them a lot. I wanted to incorporate them into the designs of the animals I have created here. <3
I just created a Ko-fi! If you like my works, then feel free to buy me a coffee~! I'll greatly appreciate the support! <3 However, my mods will always stay free for the public! If you have any inquiries about my commission rates and rules, please check it out on my ko-fi page :)
