It's a little bit of a mixed bag for me (the outpost building so far is way too fiddly and frustrating), ...but the stuff it gets right - it gets it REALLY right.
The ship building and the feeling of the movement in low grav w/a jetpack are a couple of those things.
Yeah, I'm not saying it doesn't have flaws, but I don't think those flaws ruin the game, I enjoy probably ~80% of it, the other 20% hopefully gets some TLC over the next couple years, but even if it doesn't, I'll spend most of my time in the 80% I like.
Also agreed. I've put something like 700 hours into Starfield since launch, and while I've spent the last couple of weeks playing nothing but Cyberpunk 2077 (absolutely AMAZING game), I still really enjoyed all the time I spent in the Settled Systems, and I look forward to the new content and updates coming down the line. It helps that my current ship is a 1 million credit behemoth rebuild of the Frontier with a pair of artillery guns strapped to the sides.
game is good and i haven't played anything else since release. but for me, it's you modders who make it epic. it really is like ice cream. the base game is vanilla, which is good by itself. but with mods it becomes so much more than vanilla and it becomes waaaaaay better.
