A recent product of Deimos Staryards, the Class B Gemini-class heavy destroyer was designed with the UC Vanguard in mind. Designed for dogfighting multiple enemy ships, the Gemini is armed with four turreted pulse lasers - covering both fore and aft - and six of the UC Vanguard's bespoke Hellfire autocannons to shred the hull once the pilot brings her bow to bear, in addition to an array of missile launchers for engaging heavy C-class and M-class ships.
In addition the fuel tanks, reactor and grav drive are mostly concealed by the dual-hull design to protect them from incoming fire, as many Vanguard pilots in the first ten years of the program found that spacers and pirates often deliberately targeted exposed grav drives or fuel tanks to escape, leaving them stranded until help could arrive - tying up both the damaged vessel and the one assisting them for repairs.
