Recommended to use with my mod Human Damage (Just a Flesh Wound - Bullet in the Head)

This is a combat AI mod that changes how enemies act.

This mod makes the following changes:
  • Increases enemy AI e.g. chances they will: avoid/dodge/evade threats, attack when staggered, wait, work as a group and flank etc.
  • Enemies will have more realistic actions, such as more likely to go through doors, reactions to what is going on around them, viewing distances and angles etc.
  • Changes to the combat style by factions e.g. spacers, crimson fleet, Vanguard and Ecliptic e.g. how aggressive and confident they are.
  • NPCs no longer have unlimited grenades.
  • Alien bites cause more damage than other forms of attack such as bashing and using their tails.

FMOD installer includes an optional Extreme Patch to ramp up the difficulty significantly by increasing the accuracy of enemies and an optional better awareness patch to increase the distance enemies will react to things. Use the extreme patch in conjunction with Human Damage (Just a Flesh Wound - Bullet in the Head) x20 or x50 headshot multiplier to have enemies that are not only very accurate but will also kill you instantly if they get a headshot. The patches need to be loaded after the main mod to work i.e. they need to overwrite the main mod. My recommendation is to not use the patches but I have included them for those of you that like more of a challenge.

I have used several other combat/AI mods but liked specific things from each one that they did but not one of them did everything I liked. Therefore, I used xEdit to see what changes they made and tweaked the settings to my personal preference.

Mods that inspired this were (in no particular order):

Ascension and Royal Galaxy make other changes to the game. If you want to keep those changes but use my tweaks, load this mod after them. NASAPUNK does also but this mod may need a patch to work with it.

Installation
  • Install with either Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex.
  • To install manually, extract the zip folder into the Data folder and activate the esm file via the Creations - Load Order section within the game menu.

Try my Melius Wabbajack mod list which includes over 200 mods that makes Starfield more enjoyable.

More of my mods:
Advanced Hand Scanner - Reduces the number of scans required for plants and animals to 4 from 8. It you have a fancy scanner, I'm sure it doesn't need to scan things 8 times.
Walk With Me - Speeds up walking speed to nearly match NPCs.
Fair Ship Registration Fee - Reduces the registration cost for ships from 84% to a third of the ship's price.
El Jefe Combat AI. Combat AI overhaul inspired by other such mods.
Human Damage (Just a Flesh Wound - Bullet in the Head) Changes the damage multiple for the different areas of body parts of humans to make the game more fun and rewards better aiming.
Power Nap Speeds up the countdown timer when sleeping and waiting as much as possible without skipping numbers. The default setting seemed soooo slow.
Gripe Fixes - Fixes several gripes I have with core gameplay elements; docking distance, ship loot distance, registration cost for ships, countdown timer when sleeping and waiting and walking speed.
Better Spaceship Interaction Distance Increases docking, looting and cargo transfer distances for your spaceship.
Melius Main Menu music replacer. Replaces the main music with a much moodier and darker sounding track.
Pause Menu Melius. Replaces the default background in the pause menu with an image designed to be used with my Melius Wabbajack mod list.
Starfield Menu Background. Replaces the main menu background with an animated starfield.
