The Pequod Backstory
Captain Prophet is a seasoned and determined leader of the UC ship Pequod, embodying the ideals of justice and order within a complex and often chaotic universe. Once a decorated officer in the United Colonies Space Force, his career has been marked by a steadfast commitment to the principles of law and a relentless resolve to maintain peace in a galaxy fraught with turmoil and betrayal.
Haunted by a past mission during the Colony War that ended in tragedy, Prophet lost several close comrades due to an encounter with the notorious Nautilus and her formidable commander, Captain Owl. This devastating event weighs heavily on him, fueling his desire for retribution and guiding his relentless pursuit of the ship and its captain. For Prophet, Captain Owl represents not just a threat but a symbol of the chaos that led to
the loss of those he held dear.
The crew of the Pequod reflects Prophet’sideals—skilled individuals bound together by loyalty and purpose. Among them are The Regulators, an elite unit of UC Marines selected for their combat proficiency and strong moral compass. This diverse group, consisting of
veterans and fresh recruits a like, shares the common goal of restoring order and safeguarding the innocent from those who would prey upon them.
Prophet’s leadership style includes a mix of discipline and empathy. He fosters camaraderie among his crew while maintaining high expectations for performance. Each member is acutely aware of their duty, yet he encourages them to voice their concerns, understanding that unity is essential in navigating the treachery of the cosmos.
As Captain, Prophet is not only a strategist but also a philosopher. He often reflects on the nature of justice and the implications of vengeance. His pursuit of the Nautilus serves as both a deeply personal vendetta and a mission of moral significance, embodying his belief that every action has consequences, and choices made in the heat of conflict can ripple
far beyond the present.
Guided by a fierce sense of purpose, Captain Prophet leads the Pequod into the unknown, determined to confront Captain Owl and his
crew. His mission is not merely about eliminating a threat; it is also a quest for redemption for the past, as he seeks to protect the ideals he has sworn to uphold. His journey is as much about confronting the shadows of the present as
it is about reconciling with the ghosts of the past.

Beluga Backstory
Captain Waston was once a celebrated leader in the United Colonies Space Force, known for his exceptional skills in law enforcement and his unwavering commitment to justice. Aboard the Beluga, a sturdy and reliable boarding ship, he specialized in hunting down the most wanted criminals, detaining suspected smugglers, and inspecting vessels for contraband. His keen instincts and dedication to his crew earned him a reputation as an up-and-coming captain with a bright future before him.
However, Waston's career took a devastating turn when he apprehended the child of a powerful UC Council member for trafficking contraband. This courageous act of duty, intended to uphold the law, was met with swift backlash from those in high places. Tainted by the politics of nepotism, Waston found himself reassigned to a seemingly trivial mission: serving as a support ship for the Pequod and its relentless captain, Prophet, in pursuit of the ghost ship Nautilus—a mission that many in the UC dismissed as little more than a fairy tale born from the ashes of the Colony War.
As Waston and his crew jumped from system to system on this wild goose chase, he struggled with the knowledge that the Council had essentially banished him to this fruitless task, merely to placate Captain Prophet's obsession. While he had once been celebrated for his bravery and strong moral compass, he now felt like a pawn in a game driven by political maneuvering. What stung even more was that the Vanguard, the unit made for such tasks, had essentially passed the buck, and now Waston was stuck on this wild pursuit instead of tackling genuine threats to UC space.
Waston longed for the days when he could focus on real issues, like bringing justice to criminals who truly endangered innocent lives, instead of catering to the whims of the Council or indulging the obsessions of his fellow captain. It was this disillusionment with the politics of the UC that weighed heavily on his mind, as he contemplated the true cost of misplaced priorities that had once cost them the war.
