Showcase
This showcase contains my headshot mod, Better Locational Damage

What does this mod do?
StarValor is a complete overhaul of combat damage and health values in Starfield.

While the game has great mods adding new features and animations, they often fail to balance gameplay. In Starfield, enemies like pirates can range from weak with 100 HP to powerful ones with over 5000 HP, leading to either quick one-hit kills or unrealistic, drawn-out battles that break immersion. StarValor addresses this imbalance by automatically adjusting health and damage values, ensuring fair, engaging, and challenging combat.

The patching is done with StarPatcher, an SFSE patcher that can automatically patch game data without causing many incompatibilities. It can also patch mods you have installed automatically, without the need for additional patches.

Enjoy more dynamic encounters that feel balanced, with smooth and mod-compatible gameplay.

This mod is still an early version of the mod and the balance can be off here and there. I'm happy about every feedback!

Key features

Ammo (done by StarPatcher)
Damage has been shifted to ammunition. This means that the damage no longer depends on the weapon; it depends on the ammo it uses.

Difficulty
You can die very quickly if you're not careful. It's recommended to adjust the gameplay options and reduce dealt by enemies when installing this mod for the first time. I suggest starting on Very Easy. Yes, Very Easy. Weapons are lethal, even to you and your followers.

Locational Damage
Body parts have been adjusted. Areas like the arms and legs now take less damage than before. Aiming for vital body parts is now more important than ever.

NPCs (done by StarPatcher)
The stats for NPCs have been redone. Human NPCs (including the player) are more fragile, while larger enemies can withstand a lot of bullets before being killed. The health pools have been redesigned to match the difficulty of the opponent you're facing.
The player no longer gains health on level up. Using items and equipment is now more crucial than ever.
Bethesda has introduced a completely new system for many aliens and monsters, which handles damage, health, armor rating, and other factors. This makes patching races more complicated. If you find any creature too strong or too weak, let me know!

Object Modifications (done by StarPatcher and ESM)
The damage amplifiers for weapons have been reduced, as much of the damage has been shifted to the ammo. Upgrading your weapons is still important, but it is no longer required to deal damage to your enemies.

Perks
Many damage increases from perks have been replaced with other effects to prevent weapons from becoming weak when you don't have the required perks that increase their damage. Every weapon should be viable, even without perks. So when you find a new weapon, you can use it without significant drawbacks or it becoming useless.

Weapons (done by StarPatcher)
The weapons themselves have had their damage greatly reduced. The out-of-range multiplier is now an important factor, and the damage drop-off over range has been made more noticeable. Pistols and submachine guns deal less damage at longer ranges, while rifles deal more damage at those distances. Sniper rifles experience even less damage drop-off over range.

Shotguns have been significantly buffed. They can be extremely devastating at close range and deal increased limb damage the closer you are to your target.

Do I need to start a new game?
Well yes and actually no. A cell reset, will clear NPCs with old stats.
