About this mod
Remastered the FMVs to 8K at max, while offering an optional 4K pack, and frame interpolates them to 60 FPS before encoding them to Bink 2.8.
This updates to FMVs to utilise Bink 2.8, along with utilising Bink Audio 2.0.

All the FMVs have been remastered to 8K max, while offering a 4K pack. The FMVs has been frame interpolated to 60 FPS, before they have been encoded to Bink 2.
From the initial impression, I think Bethesda may have used Smooth parameter, to minimise the visibility of the compression artefacts (like macro blocking), in doing so, the frames look smoother. Although, this isn't present in the packs (and I found this out very late).
The game ships with Bink 2.8 DLL, however, the Bink videos were encoded using Bink 2.5 for some reason. This will update them to utilise Bink 2.8, as generally newer iterations of Bink contains updated and, normally, a better compressor than its previous iterations.

8K 60 FPS NOTICE
Running 8K 60 FPS FMVs in any game will guarantee that both memory and CPU usage will increase, memory more significantly. Please ensure you have more than recommended memory (higher than 16 GB for this game). If you have 16 GB RAM, stick with 4K 60 FPS FMVs, to prevent memory-related issues from occurring.
The release offers
- 8K/4K 60 FPS Remastered FMVs.
- Encoded to Bink 2.8 - updated from Bink 2.5, therefore, updating them to utilise newer Bink 2 iteration.
- Utilises Bink Audio 2.0 – updated from Bink Audio 1.1.
- Increased bitrate, more drastically for 8K.
- QuickSFV support.
- Vortex MM support (packed properly).
Benefits of using Bink 2
Bink 2 is still being improved on, and offers a much more efficient and effective frame quality presentation in contrast to Bink 1 (which hasn’t been updated for over a decade now).
This is why these FMVs would be better to run than others that used Bink 1:
- Full range colour support.
- Multithreaded decoding support.
- Much improved compressor.
- Lower memory requirements and usage.
- Lower bitrate required to retain good to decent frame quality.
- Can use GPU to decode instead of CPU (depending on the game).
Reporting Bugs
I am always on the verge of fixing bugs, and I always aim to resolve any outstanding bugs as soon as I can. So, if you find a bug within any FMVs, drop a new bug report, and I'll have a look into it.
