This is for those with ability bar spam binds, who get annoyed by the excessive and constant UI beeping that comes with it, but DO want the TFO Ready Alert Whistle.

My personal setup includes a rapid-fire spam attack that just face rolls 90% of my abilities constantly, and a lot of them make repetitive and annoying beeps because they are on cooldown and the error beep keeps saying 'SHES NOT READY YET, CAPTAIN!'.

Normally I'd just turn the UI audio off and leave it at that, but if you are waiting for a TFO to pop, and you don't notice a match is ready because you are scrolling through Reddit on your phone, and because the whistle isn't there, you don't accept the match ready window, and well then you get peeved because now you have to re-queue again for Q knows how long.

This affects the ability tray, other buttons might be affected, and other UI SFX will remain untouched (crafting related stuff)

43 Total Variants in 10sec, 30sec and 60sec TFO pop alerts.

VOYAGER:
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Blue Alerts

RED ALERT:
  • Discovery
  • Dominion
  • DS9
  • Kelvin
  • Klingon
  • Picard
  • Romulan
  • TNG
  • ToS

  • Discovery Black Alert
  • Starbase PA "To Battlestations!" Alert
  • Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan OP (1:31)

These will play the full length until they end, regardless if you accept or deny the TFO Ready box.

The longer ones are good if you tend to step away from your computer while waiting for the queue to pop. Shorter if you don't.

The mp3's of all of these are in their respective folders, sample them there.

FAQ & Important Info:
  • Is this mod reversible?
  • Yes, deleting the modded FSB will return your game to its original state.

  • Will this affect PVP?
  • No, this mod only impacts the audio, leaving PVP unaffected.

  • Can I get banned for using this mod?
  • Modding always comes with a risk, but as this mod affects only YOUR game audio on YOUR computer, no one else is affected by these mods. So the risk is minimal. Use at your own discretion.

  • Is Mod Manager supported?
  • No, this mod requires manual installation steps.

Installation Steps:
  • Navigate to the directory and put the FSB file here:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live\localdata\sound\win32

  • If you are on Steam, your FSB goes here:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live\localdata\Sound\Win32

If the folder tree doesn't exist yet, create it.

If it doesn't work at first, just restart the game. But SFX swaps are usually
instant, as long as the SFX being changed isn't in use when the file is
changed.

Credit for existing in-game SFX goes to the wonderful people who helped the development of STO.

To anyone concerned about getting penalized for using my, or anyone else's
mods: these only affect client-side files and have no affect of
server-side files. I’ve used these for over 9 years and have never had a
single issue. If you wish to revert back to default SFX, simply delete
the file from the win32 folder and you're good to go!
