Sadly Star Wars Battlefront II does not natively support the PS5 Dualsense controller. With a workaround you can emulate an Xbox controller through Steam, which will show the Xbox controller buttons ingame. This mod replaces those with the correct PS5 ones.
If you want to know how you can make your Dualsense controller compatible with Star Wars Battlefront II (Origin/Epic users), read the description below:
For Steam users, only step 2 & 3 are relevant.
1. Add Battlefront II to your Steam library
- open your Steam library
- in the bottom left corner click on "add a game"
- then select "add a non-Steam game"
- select the "battlefrontii.exe" in your game's directory
2. Enable Dualsense controller support in the Steam settings
- in the very top left corner click on "Steam"
- click on "settings"
- select "controller"
- click on "general controller settings"
- enable "PlayStation configuration support"
- check if your controller is visible in the "detected controllers" section
3. Use FrostyFix to get mods working with Steam
- download "FrostyFix.exe" here
- launch FrostyModManager
- install my "PS5 Controller Buttons" mod
- launch the game with all mods normally through FrostyModManager
- after the game has launched, close it and also FrostyModManager (This step was only for loading all the mods so FrostyFix can work properly. You need to repeat this every time you uninstall or install new mods. Just launch the game through FrostyModManager once and close everything immediately after the game opened up.)
- run the "FrostyFix.exe"
- on the left side select "global"
- click on "enable mods globally"
4. Create a desktop shortcut of Battlefront II from Steam for a smoother experience
- open your Steam library and locate Battlefront II which you added earlier
- right click the game and select "manage"
- click on "add desktop shortcut"
Done. You can launch Battlefront II through this shortcut now and it will automatically load all the mods with proper Dualsense controller support.
As I already said, if you want to install/uninstall mods, you need to launch the game through frosty normally once. Then close everything and launch the game through your Steam desktop shortcut.
Have fun,
