Nexus Mod Manager (0.61.0) with Fallout 4 Support Released!

  • Comment

It’s been amazing to see the reaction to Fallout 4 modding so soon! We knew it was going to be big, but the response has been phenomenal! So, DuskDweller and Luco81 our illustrious NMM dev team, have been working like Dogmeat updating Nexus Mod Manager to handle Fallout 4 mods. We’re happy to say, it’s ready!

Release Notes

Download Link

This is a preliminary release that may have some wrinkles to iron out, but internal testing has gone smoothly. Even fancy scripted installers should work, though we haven’t had a chance to test them thoroughly yet as there's no mods that use scripted installers out at this time.

Please know that this release also includes the “Profiling” functionality added in recent releases. Profiling is very effective at making mod management easier and more convenient (with sharing functionality coming soon), but also drastically changes how NMM handles file storage and mod installation behind the scenes. If you are still using earlier versions of NMM (before 0.60) then there will be a transition period while NMM uninstalls and reinstalls all your files for other games (like Skyrim). Please be aware of the risks in doing this. More information can be found in Robin’s 0.60 FAQ post.

If you do not want to move over to our 0.61 profiling build of NMM because you have a particular mod setup for games like Skyrim, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 that you don't want to potentially lose, then you can have both versions of NMM running at the same time. All you need to do is download and install the latest version of NMM to a different folder than your current NMM version, and ensure you're using different folder paths for your mods. That way, you can use the 0.61 version of NMM for Fallout 4 without having to change anything for your other game playthroughs. As mentioned previously, we will only be supporting Fallout 4 and future games with versions of NMM from version 0.60 onwards and will not be providing legacy support for previous versions of NMM.

Enjoy! And, if you run happen to run into any issues, please head over to our Bug Reports and let us know.

NMM is still a mess, it always does something i don't want, and some of these things are absolutely silly that they aren't being fixed.

Like every time i install a mod my DLC's are unchecked by NMM and i have to manually re-enable them in plugins.txt.
Simple FOMM files with a DATA folder in it will sometimes skip installing the folders in it, it installs just the esp file, nothing more.
There are more things like this, which absolutely makes me hate the program, so i stopped using it and just do everything manually.

I really do not understand why these relatively simple issues aren't fixed, even after a few years.

it installs just the esp file, nothing more.

      I'm having the same issue.

If you fixed this, let me know

Also, if you run Darker nights or Atomic radio/tales of the Commonwealth, could you explain how to manually install those mods specifically.

Those mods don't have any really good manual install directions.

Thanks, in advance if you answer this post!

since latest NMM 0.63.11 update, I can't open the mod manger or lunch my games now. anything not launched through the MM is fine but I can't open the NMM to launch Skyrim or Fallout, which sucks because I stream them often. any help?

And just now when I started Fallout 4 it says "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading?" It started doing that maybe a week or less ago. And then it lists the ones that are missing but when I went to check it out, the plugins are still there. And it's been doing that since 0.61.23

And I just downloaded and installed the newest version and it's doing the same thing as version 0.61. And this time, I'm on a different disk drive(I have 4 - 2 hdd, 1 ssd & 1 external usb hdd) and it's doing the same thing. My last version it was doing what I said in the following post. Not showing the plugins in the menu but detecting them by the counter at the bottom of the manager

A while back on NMM 0.61, all my plugins disappeared from the display but you can see that they are still installed by the counter at the bottom of the mod manager. And they are still active because for example, my fusion core in my armor never drains. So the plugins are there, the manager just says they aren't with a 0 beside each category. But if I add new ones, the new ones appear. It'd doing the same thing on the newest NMM 0.63

This is annoying but I can deal with it. The thing that is driving me batshit insane is the Nuka World monorail crash bug near the start of the ride where it crashes while the lady on the mic is talking about looking to the right at the mountain that is the tallest man made structure in Nuka World. Totally fucking up my Fallout experience. 4 is the first one I've played since 1 when I was just a little kid maybe 24-25 years ago at my mom's teenage coworker's house

I've seen that update 1.7.15 fixes it but I've even reinstalled Fallout 4 with 1.7.15 included and it still crashes. Rest of the game is fine but Nuka world. And this is driving me crazy.

HAS ANYONE HAD THE NUKA WORLD MONORAIL CRASH BUG AND FIXED IT? IF SO, WOULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW? I've spent the past 3 days trying to find a solution but no go

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I have recently been struck with the dreaded missing menus bug after NMM updated and "reinstalled" all of my mods, I guess this pissed off some of my settlement mods that have to use uninstaller chems (didn't think the NMM would effect it because I wasn't going to open the game until all mods where reinstalled) now many of my mod added menus are gone, I "think" most of my vanilla menus are there, not sure if the DCL menus appear until after your complete said DLC's missions as I have not made it that far in the game yet.
