Mod Structure Helper

The Structure Helper tool allows anyone to:

  • Create new structures in the world out of entities, big or small.
  • Browse an organized list of all vanilla & modded entities.
  • Place any desired entities into the world.
  • Paint grass, plants, outcrops, etc.
  • Move, rotate, scale, and drag entities.
  • Construct new wrecks, alien bases, etc..
  • Share your structures with anyone.
Quick start instructions

Once you have the mod installed, it is recommended you create a new creative world whenever you plan on editing a structure. This is because of issues with syncing your structures after saving/loading the game.

Creating structures

To create a new structure, open the structure helper menu (F4 by default) and press 'Create new structure'. For the mod folder name, use the name of a mod that can load structures. As of writing this, the only mod that loads structures is the Epic Structure Loader. So, put the folder name which is "EpicStructureLoader". The structure name is entirely up to you.

Editing structures

Mod structures are centered around new entities. Structures cannot remove entities that were added by the game, though, due to various limitations. You'll need to start by choosing a location to place your entities, then determine which entity you want to place. You can either place one directly from the entity browser or choose an entity to brush with. Simply place entities and move them around using all the tools at your disposal to create your structure.

Don't forget to save frequently! The save bind is control + S, so keep your fingers glued to those keys.

Distributing your structure to others

When you are ready to share your creation, you can simply upload your .structure file(s) to Nexus (which is likely found in the EpicStructureLoader/Structures folder), and list the Epic Structure Loader as a dependency. Do NOT list this mod, the Structure Helper, as a dependency, because that will probably confuse users...

Features

  • A new structure helper menu, opened with F4 or through the pause menu by default.
  • Configuration for all keybinds!
  • All the basic essential tools: select, translate, rotate, scale, drag,
entity painter, object picker, duplicate, select all, undo, delete.
  • A comprehensive entity browser menu..
  • Global space toggle and custom snapping settings for more advanced use cases.
  • An alien cable generator!

Installation (Automatic)

You can use the Mod Manager to automatically install mods. If you decide to use it, simply place the downloaded file into the ModDownloads folder and press Install in the in-game mod menu.

You can also use Vortex to automatically install this mod.

Installation (Manual)

  • If you haven’t already, download and install the Subnautica BepInEx Pack.
  • Download the latest version of this mod.
  • Place the downloaded zip file into your Subnautica\BepInEx folder.
  • Right click the zip file and select extract --> unzip here (NOT "Extract all").
If you can’t find that button, you can instead open the zip file, copy
the "plugins" folder, and paste it into the BepInEx folder.
