This mod makes you suffer consequences if you stay awake for too long. You also do not need a bed to sleep. You can sleep anywhere you want. To fall asleep look at the ground at your feet and press "Left hand" button when you see the prompt. When sleeping inside your base on the floor or inside your drop pod your sleep duration will increase by 25%. When sleeping outside your sleep duration will increase by 50%. In the mod options you can set number of hours you need to sleep. By default you have to sleep 6 hours every 24 hours. After you stay awake for longer than 18 hours you will start to suffer sleep deprivation.

How this mod simulates sleep deprivation:
  • The longer you stay awake the blurrier your vision is.
  • The longer you stay awake the slower you move. You will not lose more than 50% of your max speed.
  • Actions such as using and selecting tools are less responsive.
  • You can not sprint.
  • Turning around is slower.

This mod adds some new text. If your game language is not English you may want to translate it. Localization files are in "SubnauticaZero\BepInEx\plugins\NeedForSleep\Localization" folder. If there is no localization flie for your language, copy and paste English.json. Rename the new file so it matches your language. Open folder "SubnauticaZero\SubnauticaZero_Data\StreamingAssets\SNUnmanagedData\LanguageFiles" to see correct language file names. Open the new file and translate the text. If you upload translated language file, I will add it to the mod.

The mod was tested with current Steam version of the game.
