The 'combat die' used with HeroQuest has been substituted with a standard D6. Roll chances are as follows; Skull: 3/6, White Shield: 2/6, Black Shield: 1/6. So an attack roll requires a 4+ to deal 1 damage, a Hero defence roll requires a 5+ to block 1 damage, and a Monster defence roll requires a 6 to block 1 damage. Other rolls for actions like disarming traps can also be easily done using this method.
