The mod can also be found on the Steam Workshop Steam Workshop::Thunder Lord's Legacy (steamcommunity.com) or through the in-game Mod Store as of version 1.1.2a.

This mod is not meant to be played along others. For the best experience I highly recommend you disable other mods while running with this one and play in at least Nightmare+ difficulty. Amount of NPCs recommended: Normal  or Plentiful.

This mod is meant to be played with the Eye of Providence. I do not offer support for Mythical Gourd runs as it is still new and the mod was created with the Eye of Providence in mind.

Now also contains Dragon God Cursed by The Heavens and Jianke Zhi Nu and the mods have been expanded upon with new additions and tweaks to stories.

Jianke Zhi Nu Story:

You are the Swordsman's Wrath, also known as the Jianke Zhi Nu or Biting Fury. A materialization of the desire's of every demonized swordsman that has passed through the gates of hell. You're pure wrath, born to destroy and cultivate the path of the demonic sword.
From the depths of hell you've risen with a single purpose, to kill and claim your place in history as one of the strongest Sword Demons.

Dragon God Cursed by The Heavens Story:

 You are the reincarnation of the Dragon God of Thunder and Fire, an extremely powerful immortal being that keeps reincarnating in human form in order to preserve itself. You have been wronged by The Heavens and cursed to stay in human form forever. One day, you hope to have your revenge and claim your rightful place among the Gods.

Gameplay instructions (I've accidentally deleted the comment where I've explained how things work so I'll give you a quick briefing on Thunder Lord's Legacy for content up to v1.0.7)

Make sure you equip Thunder Lord's Legacy destiny and the Ring of the Thunder Lord. The idea is that the ring gives you passive ligthning, reaching 300 will increase your ATK, at 200ATK it starts the first main story of the mod and triggers a dungeon. This dungeon story is started when you cultivate on the map (not in the sect) and it has to be finished, if you die you have to restart your character as it's a one time only thing, so if you think you're not prepared, don't cultivate, use sect cultivation instead. Finishing the first dungeon gives you a mount, which I suggest you equip because of the stats it gives. After clearing the first dungeon, you'll get an event which spawns the next part of the story which is called The Red Parade, Be careful as this is exponentially harder than the first and you also have to finish it.  You don't finish it, you die, you're locked out of future content so make sure you're prepared before you enter. It's going to be spawned as a world map event which does not expire, so take your time to prepare.
You can use the Demonic Grounds world map event to power up, just look for it as it can spawn anywhere near you within a certain range. (it takes some time to spawn but once you've managed to trigger it make sure you do the grind so you don't regret later)

To continue the story you have to join a sect, I recommend Tian Fa Sect as it's the story sect and it's also created as a lightning sect, the game has a tendency to change this though so be warned.  You'll eventually have to become the Sect Leader to advance with the story, so do that.

You were but a child when your father told you stories of Thunder Lord Kyiazo.
One day, while playing in the mountains you discover a ring emanating a strange yellow and blue light with a red stone in the middle and a weird pattern. You hide your new found treasure and tell no one about it. You discover at a later date that the lightning pattern on the ring gives you lightning powers and the ring itself has a massive storage filled with goods to help your cultivation.
At the age of 18 you touch the ring's stone accidentally, lightning struck your body and you passed out. You wake up at a later date only to discover that you are now much stronger, but at the same time, more fragile than ever before.

Installation Guide (Steam version only; I do not provide support for cracked versions of the game)
- Extract using 7zip or anything you want that can unpack .zip
- Use in-game mod import tool to import mod folder named "Mod_dPmam8"
- Check Local Mods and make sure Thunder Lord's Legacy is loaded

Updating the mod
- Delete mod in Local Mods (you can also directly import over the last version but I suggest you delete first and import after to avoid any unwanted bugs)
- Import mod data from updated version

The mod currently contains a Mythic player destiny and a ring, the purpose of these is to make your character a strong lightning cultivator.
Starts off slow and ramps up over time as you charge up your lightning.
