How to install mods for Tales of arise (PC) (Steam)

If you want any other tutorial please tell me about it 

way 1 
 
To install mods for tales of arise go to your steam game right click your game go to properties, go to local files, click browse then the explorer will open after that go inside the folder Arise then go inside the folder content after that go inside the folder Paks when your in Paks make a new file called ~mods paste your mods inside this folder that end with (name).pak.
 
way 2

1. navigate to your tales of arise folder
2. open the arise folder
3. open the content folder
4. open the pak folder
5. create in the pak folder a folder called ~mods you need to type ~ before mods

way 3

you can use this pathway if your game is installed on your C: disk 

C:\steam\steamapps\common\Tales of Arise\Arise\Content\Paks

Any questions pls ask me, im willing to help you. i cant promise that i know everything tho. im still new to modding games.

    -I play on Xbox gamepass and the mods dont work for any mod, the files are very different from steam version, so the way you mod may not be the same. Though I would love if someone could figure it out.

      Hello sorry for the late response i dont use nexus often, did you figure something out? i dont have much experience with xbox game pass but if its the same as it is on the normal xbox series i dont think you can mod it.

    recently got the game from Xbox game pass, it has a slight different name at of folder instead of win64 its WinGDK and the game is Arise-WinGDK-Shipping
    Anyway i did the same steps and created the ~mods folder and placed a mod in it, but the problem my game would crash everytime i reach the main menu and click continue. Any solution for that ?

      did you check if the crashes are caused by any of the most you've installed, does it still crash when using different mods.

    Im doing exactly what im supposed to for the mods but it still aint working for me... copied step by step on the video and everything.

    I did try to use 2 outfit mods but for some reason they dont load succesfully. Also tried a new game in case this would be the case -> it wasn't.
    First attempt was using Vortex to load them in -> deinstalled the mods afterwards as it was not working
    Now manually put em in the right ~mods folder but they still not work as intended.
    I.e. in the new game the outfit loads when in the outfit menu even though the same outfit was already chosen but not properly loaded (no mod content)
    Moving the mouse over the outfits name, it does load as long as I dont quit the menu and everything is as normal as it was.
    Any help?

      Good question, does the mods have any requirements such as other mods to work properly? did you look for any bug reports on the mod page you've installed them on?  if you want me to test them on my pc, let me know the names of the mods.

    Using Vortex and im trying to set the mod staging folder to the ~mods folder but vortex wont let me. It just says "Invalid path selected, You can not put mods into the game directory. This directory is under the control of the game (and potentially steam or similar) so your mods might be deleted or moved or otherwise damaged by foreign software. Please choose a separate folder for staging folder, one that no other application uses." 
    Using vortex' suggested pathway doesnt load the mods properly. I have a basic outfit change for shionnes first basic white outfit but its not loading so I know for sure the mods arent loading in properly.

      I don't recommend using Vortex for installing mods for tales of arise, I have tried it myself and I didn't get it working

    How do you edit costumes? Like, how do I edit the .pak files to alter costume details, or change which vanilla outfit it replaces?

      sorry for the late response haven't been online in a while, I don't know how to edit costumes, I can look a bit into it but I think it will be better if you ask the mod maker yourself.

    Greetings and apologies. I too am not seeing the costume mods being applied within the game. 
    I placed the .pak files within D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Tales of Arise\Arise\Content\Paks\~mods
    I attempted this with Alphen Speedo, sexy new world trailblazer, and nude Alphen. I tried them standalone and together. 
    I have all DLC required and can't seem to place where the issue is coming from. I can see that the DLC costumes I have work, but the mods to alter them do not. 
    Any assistance is deeply appreciated.

    I’m brand new to using mods on a computer and looking for assistance i cant seem to get my mod to work, I cant do the 1st way because the local files don’t show up so I’m trying the 2nd way and I believe I’ve done everything correctly but im not very smart either could someone please post a video of the 2nd way of doing it?

    Hi, when i tried to launch the game with the mod foleder and mod installed in it, the game crashed and won't launch. Thank you

    hello, im trying to install a daff punk mask for the protagonist but it doesnt work when I install it on the ~mods file most of them dont work and I have all the dlc for the game please help, one was to fic the broken mask and it replaced the new world ponny tail
