About this mod
Out of date but includes modding tutorials still. Used to: Unlock teleporting to all cabins, better store prices, unlimited carry, extra skill points, lower rest cost, double exp/money, 650m despawn, better scent lures/callers, quieter player, faster walking speed, better shotguns, lower wobble, 10x deployables, bushmaster, cheap respec, more.
- Permissions and credits
This used to be the most popular modpack on Nexus because mods uploaded at the time were scarce and very out of date, and you had to use mod merger to combine several to get what you wanted. Until I came along and started byte editing all the things I wanted for days and then uploaded this pack. I documented as much as I could find on modding the game and how I did it, hoping someone smarter/more experienced with programming than me could come along and improve upon it. Which mvision69 did with Mod Builder and Animal Population Changer after seeing some ideas in my tutorial comp! Granted, his probably took MORE work and MORE days because it's a whole pile of interconnected python scripts he makes look easy, but really isn't. I'm not taking any credit at all there, just noting the idea may have entered his mind after seeing the pointed out locations of files and how to change them.
I am leaving this on the Nexus because even though the modding tutorials are redundant with Mod Builder, there are almost no guides or references on how to mod this game. You can still byte edit things the new at the time of writing Mod Builder doesn't (yet!) include! Although most don't want to/can't, maybe someone does. :) I struggled a lot and I don't want you to struggle so much.

In short this mod does a lot and everything is listed out specifically below. Some things were removed or changed from the first version mostly because they changed when New England updated. (Either unnecessary to add or impossible to add.)
::NEW ENGLAND NOTES::
TheHunter COTW had some positive balance changes made in the core game in the New England Update that change
how I view the game's playability and feeling, so some things are 'missing' from Pure Winter's COTW Tweaks
because they were added into the base game anyway.
-Population-
Layton Lakes (who suffered the most in spawn distribution, a map without bottle neck areas so animals are loosely
dispersed in a way they are hard to find with a low population of 1800) got a MAJOR population boost in
the base game.
Due to other 'empty' maps getting new species to help round them out, I did not include population boosts
in my release. You can still add them on your own from another modder! (See optional file for instructions.)

Player x4 speed.
Heart rate penalty reduction.
Wobble reduced to 40% for standing, 20% crouched, 0% prone.
22 Skill/Perk Points (Changes only noticeable on a new player save. Backup your lodge/maps before optionally starting a new save.)

Skill Respec base is now 100 per point instead of 3500. (So it's no longer 48k just to redo your skills.)
25 Base resting cost instead of 250 (It may not appear immediately in game so give it time and it will change to 250 base, unless new save. It has to go through the whole 'back to base' cooldown timer.)
Store prices are 90% reduced. (So a 4k decoy would be 400, 1500 scent lure is 150, etc.)*Gun/scope/bow prices unaffected.
::Skill Points Spent Required - Changes::
62.5% less player noise. (Most people would move in a very careful way and aren't so loud IRL, nor would they charge through a giant shrug crawling.)
Max distance tracks can spawn is 50m, up from 40m.
THE BUSHMASTER! -Player's ability to hide in bushes is now ultra, you just jump in a bush and now you have a blind. ;)
Slight balm to heartheart being crazy.
Audio Clue's accuracy is bumped in half skill, and maxed in full skill. (99% accurate.)
Scent Item duration 900 instead of 300.
Dboule range of scent item attraction. (Now 100 up from 50.)
Major boost in scent attraction.
50% less fall damage.
x2 Caller attraction bump.
x3 Ranges of Callers at Lookout Towers

Unlimited Carry Weight (My least favorite 'feature' so yeah, it's unlimited now. Well, 9999, effectively the same.)
