The Thing Continuity

This mod makes drastic changes to various systems and is a WIP. Upon completion of this mod it will act more as a survival horror should. The overall game will be darker, harder and more chaotic.

No-Intro (Skip Startup - Splash Videos)

Speeds up game launch significantly by automatically bypassing startup or introduction videos.

New weapon sounds

This mod overhauls the sound effects of most weapons in the game.

Music Overhaul (In Progress)

A sound effect, but primarily music mod that aims to replace many of the tracks used for scripted sequences throughout the game. My goal is to remove as much of the artificial silence as possible, but its not guaranteed the experience will be perfect. I haven't done extensive testing and there's many limitations to this method.

Smaller reticle

This mod replaces the default in-game reticle with a small, unobtrusive crosshair or a single dot.

After Me - Saliva end credits song

Replaces the new end credits song with the song 'After Me' by Saliva which was used in the original 2002 version of the game.Extract and place file in;(path to game)\The Thing Remastered\datareplace file, you can backup the original mainui.pak if you want.

Flashlight Enlargement Mod

You see, when a flashlight illuminates, it's just light. But darkness, from one of the shadows, won't obey when it's attacked.
