The good news is that the patch is ready. The bad news is that we have encountered some problems with the server infrastructure, making downloading DLCs impossible. We want to apologize to our fans for not meeting our target of delivering the patch last night. We will update you when we know more.

Nope. Buying retail actually means buying retail for this one. Steam isn't involved unless you bought it through them.
So, with DRM being gone, does this mean if I download the patch and install it on an install that I haven't activated, I won't need to activate it?
Just to clarify something ,if I purchase a Box\Retail version of TW2 will it still require the huge 9 GB Steam download ,or does that only effect TW2 if it is bought off Steam ?
Haha, yeah, I was like wtf why in the heck is this taking so long to download? I didn't realize it was 9GB....sheesh.
Troll DLC worked fine for me when I got it before the patch and the game ran incredibly well before it too. Patch hasn't changed anything that I have noticed, maybe a slight increase in FPS but I was already getting 45-60 outdoors, everything on ultra (no DOF, motion blur, SSAO, Ubersampling..just don't like those), 1920x1200. Still likes to CTD a bit...not too annoying though, I can actually play for a few hours now
They were saying about another patch on June 2nd...hopefully that will fix up everything else.
Others appear to have the same problem. http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/experiencing_very_noticeable_pop_in_post_patch
I got mine from the store so....I guess I am waiting
so steam may have downloaded/installed corrupt files and its re-downloading basically everything, no wonder my game crashed so often
