About this mod

Mod that reinstates the opening credit visuals from Until Dawn (2015). Replaces Out of the Shadows with O'Death

Installation

  • Place Intro_BusRide.bk2 at "{GAME_INSTALL_DIRECTORY}/Windows/Bates/Content/Movies/Intro_BusRide.bk2" (Make a backup first to easily uninstall the mod).
  • Place modODeathRestored_P.pak at "{GAME_INSTALL_DIRECTORY}/Windows/Bates/Content/Paks/~mods/modODeathRestored_P.pak"


Note

If you want to remove the opening playstation logo and get the main menu faster, you can also remove PSStudios.bk2 from the Movies directory.
Lastly, if you don't want the butterfly effect introduction (I never really liked it) you can remove butterfly_tutorial_51L.bk2 and butterfly_tutorial_no_text_51L.bk2
from the movies directory. After which when you click new game, it will open looking at the cabin and skip the butterfly effect tutorial all together.

Uninstall

  • Restore the backup you made of Intro_BusRide.bk2
  • Delete `modODeathRestored_P.pak`


Changes

  • Remade intro title cards (Sony, Supermassive, and Until Dawn) to improve visual fidelity
  • Extended opening title cards to help lengthen intro to align with bus scene. Added snow effect audio to fill silence
  • O'Death replaces Out of the Shadows
  • Kept radio shot from opening credits of Until Dawn (2024) to extend length of opening to align with bus scene
  • Added in O'Death credits after bus scene
  • Added in Ballistic Moon title card at the end to fill the length of the song
