Marsarah Mod v5.2.7
The purpose of this mod is to make Valheim feel less grindy in general and to add interesting features to the game. This is mostly intended for subsequent playthroughs, as I recommend the vanilla experience for a first playthrough.
Short description:
● Adds the following info to HUD:
- Time of day, smart biome text indicator, inventory weight and slots, enemy detector, boat speed, online players
- HUD toggleable with the Insert key
● Modifies the amount of resources needed to craft or upgrade gear, as well as some build pieces. Most of the resource reductions for gear are made for metal.
● Some items have their required resource types changed to match the biome they are in. For example, a Silver Sword will not require Iron anymore, but Obsidian.
● Double bronze crafting
● Iron age back piece with poison resist
● Heavy armor speed penalties removed. Light armor speed buffs
● Battleaxe and Shield speed penalties reduced

This mod needs BepInEx for Valheim in order to work.

Unpack the .zip file and copy the MarsarahMod.dll into the Valheim/BepInEx/Plugins folder.
If upgrading from version 2.1.0 specifically, remove that .dll file.

The mod is split in sections which can be enabled/disabled individually in the config file. This file is created automatically when the game is run with the mod installed for the first time.
There are many sections this mod covers that will likely interfere with other mods that change similar things. If that's the case, simply disable the section in conflict in this mods config file. E.g. if using a mod that modifies creature levels and you prefer that over the changes in this mod, then simply disable the [Creature Unleveler by Boss] section in this mod in the config file.

[Cheaper Gear Recipes]
● Reduces the amount of resources needed to craft or upgrade gear, especially for metal. This does not modify the type of resources needed, just the amount.
● Most metal resource requirements are reduced to half (for the majority of items).
● Other non-metal resource amounts are either increased or decreased where needed for the sake of balance.

[Double Bronze Crafting]
● Outputs double the amount of Bronze when smelting Copper and Tin at a Forge.

● Reduces the amount of resources needed for build pieces

[Alternate Cooking Recipes]
● Changes the recipe amounts for some food recipes.
● Doubles the amount of crafted items for some food recipes.

[Alternate Gear Recipes]
● Changes some gear material requirements for crafting or upgrading to match the biome the item comes from. Thus a player will not need to be pushed back to the previous biome to get the required material to craft it.

[Alternate Linen & Lox Cape]
● Moves the Linen Cape from the Plains biome to the Swamp biome.
● Adds poison resistance to the Linen and Lox capes

[Alternate Build Pieces Materials]
● Changes some material requirements for the build pieces below. This goes in line with the Alternate Gear Recipes section.
- Tool Rack (Workbench Improvement): Obsidian --> Coal (This will move this improvement one biome earlier)
- Darkwood Gate: Iron --> Black Metal
- Bath Tub: Iron --> Black Metal
[Alternate Gear Speed Modifiers]
● Changes speed modifiers on gear as follows:
- All metal chest and leg pieces have their speed penalty removed (from -5% each)
- All mage chest and leg pieces have their speed penalty removed (from -2% each)
- Troll & Ask chest and leg pieces now have a 2% speed modifier increase each
- Root armor chest and leg pieces now have a 1% speed modifier increase each
- Battleaxe and Crystal Battleaxe speed penalty changed: -20% --> -5%
- Tower Shields speed penalty changed: -20% --> -10%
[Alternate Forsaken Powers Cooldowns & Durations]
● Changes the timers for Forsaken Powers as follows:
- Cooldown: 20 mins --> 15 mins
- Duration: 5 mins --> 10 mins
[Faster Character Jog, Walk, Swim and Crouch Speeds (Run excluded)]
● This section increases the speed of the character when not running by a slight amount.
[Alternate Status Effects]
● Changes the duration of the following effects as follows:
- Minor and Medium Health Potion duration: 120 seconds --> 60 seconds
- Minor and Medium Stamina Potion duration: 120 seconds --> 60 seconds
- Wet effect duration: 120 seconds --> 60 seconds
[Less Stamina Usage]
● Reduces all stamina usage for all actions (combat, running, building) by 15%.
[More Armor Stats]
● This section adds extra HP to heavy armor and extra stamina to light armor.
● HP values: total (head, chest, legs):
- Bronze set: 10 (2, 4, 4)
- Iron set: 20 (4, 8, 8)
- Silver set: 30 (8, 12, 10)
- Padded set: 40 (10, 16, 14)
- Carapace set: 50 (12, 20, 18)
- Flametal set: 60 (14, 24, 22)
- Ask set: 25 (5, 10, 10)
● Stamina values: total (head, chest, legs):
- Troll set: 5 (1, 2, 2)
- Root set: 10 (3, 4, 3)
- Fenris set: 15 (4, 6, 5)

[Mage Gear Provides Eitr]
● Eitr-weave set provides 50 base Eitr (20 for chest and legs and 10 for head)
● Embla set provides 75 base Eitr (30 for chest and legs and 15 for head)
[Better Death Raiser]
● HP damage reduced to 30% from 40% when summoning
● Summoned Archers chance to spawn increased to 60% (from 20%)
● Summoned Skeleton speed increased
[Better Summoned Skeletons Gear]
● Improved looks of summoned skeletons (stats unchanged)
[Improved Staff of Frost Accuracy]
● Improves accuracy of Staff of Frost
[Crossbows Reload Time Reduced]
● All crossbows reload times reduced to 2.5s (from 3.5s)
[Less Ashlands Enemies]
● Reduces the spawn rate and numbers of enemies in Ashlands (still lower than current vanilla numbers)
● Disabled by default, as this was made before the official nerf.

[Gear Upgrade Unlock]
● Lowered the crafting workstation level requirements for Leather, Troll and Bronze sets and their respective weapons
● Unlocks crafting lvl 4 gear upgrades for Mistlands and Ashlands gear (within their respective biomes).
● Special Ashlands weapons that use gems can be crafted to lvl 3 (e.g. Klossen max level upgrade is 3 (from 2)).
[Permanent Lights]
● Makes all light sources permanent, but the build costs use max fuel type
● E.g. Standing Wooden Torch now requires 4 resin to build (from 2);
● Campfire requires 10 Wood to build, Hearth requires 20 (now fully return the wood when destroyed)
[Clear Mistlands]
● No mist in Mistlands after defeating the Queen

● Reduces chance for mist and snowstorms as follows:

- Mountain: Snow chance: 5 -\> 2.5
- Mountain: Snow storm chance: 1 -\> 0.5
- Plains: Clear chance: 2 -\> 3
- Plains: Misty and Light rain chance: 0.4 -\> 0.1
- Ocean: Misty chance: 0.1 -\> 0.05
- All fog density - day: unchanged (0.02), evening: 0.1 -\> 0.05, morning: 0.1 -\> 0.05, night: 0.15 -\> 0.1
[Creature Unleveler By Boss]
● Increases chance of creatures to spawn with a star or two after defeating their relevant biome boss

[Hildir Weight Rewards]
● Increases base carry weight by 50 when turning in Hildir chests (for each chest)
[Station Extensions Changes]
● Decreases space requirement for workstation extensions and increases build distance to workstations
[Stop Running Away]
● Boars and Necks won't flee when alerted

● Modifies metal weight to match Tin Ore weight.

[Larger Item Pickup Area]
● Item pickup area increased: 2 --> 3
[No Skills Level Down Upon Death]
● Skills will no longer drop in level when dying. However, the progress towards the next level for each skill will still drop. For example, if a player has level 17 in the Swords skill and 30% progress in it towards the next level, when the player dies, the percentage progress will drop, but the main level will not go below 17.
[Larger Explore Radius On Boat]
● Exploration radius doubled when on a boat.
[Crafting Recipes Reorder]
● Regroups armor recipes based on their material type (e.g. leather helmet, chest and legs are grouped together)
● Main categories go in this order: Tools, Torch, Rag Set, Leather Set, Troll Set, Bronze Set, Root Set, Iron Set, Fenrir Set, Silver Set, Padded Set, Eitr Set, Carapace Set, Embla Set, Flameetal Set, Capes, One handed weapons, Two handed weapons, Shields, Bows, Ammo, Misc

[Alternate Loading Screen Tips]
● Changes 16 of the 25 original load screen tips.
● Adds 16 extra load screen tips.
[Show Inventory Weight On HUD]
● Displays current carry weight and max weight values at the bottom left of the screen under the health bar.
- Text color changes according to weight percentage.
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Free Inventory Slots On HUD]
● Displays current number of inventory slots next to the carry weight indicator at the bottom left of the screen.
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Boat Speed On HUD]
● Displays current ship speed next to the inventory weight widget at the bottom left of the screen.
- The speed values are not in km/h or mph yet; they simply range from 0 to 10 or more.
- When going forward, "F" is displayed before the speed value.
- When going backwards, "R" is displayed before the speed value.
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Time and Day on HUD]
● Displays current time of day above the minimap using day sections.
- Day sections: Dawn, Morning, Day, Afternoon, Evening, Dusk, Night.
- 24 hour clock mode can be enabled from the config file.
● Shows number of days spent in the world
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Smart Biome Text on Minimap]
● Displays the current biome the player is in, replacing the vanila text from the minimap.
- Text color changes according to currently equipped gear (not including weapons) relative to the current biome.
- Colors range: purple (not ready for biome), red (hard), orange (ok), yellow (normal), green (easy).
- Colors only change for the first 7 land biomes. The rest are displayed in white.
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Enemy Detector on HUD]
● Displays an enemy detector on screen next to the inventory weight widget at the bottom left of the screen.
- Counts the number of enemies in close proximity.
- Does not include other players, deer, hare, player summoned creatures, or tame animals in the enemy count.
- Neutral Dverger are counted in parantheses. When attacked, the number goes into the normal enemy counter.
● HUD can be toggled with the Insert key.
[Show Number of Summons on HUD]
● Displays a counter for summoned skeletons the player has. This does not count summoned trolls.
[Show Online Players on HUD]
● Shows names of online players on HUD.
● Position can be changed under minimap from config file (default above status effects)
● If alone in a world, this is hidden by default (can be changed in config)
