Please note there are a number of reports of version 0.2.0 with advanced tombstone management not working with extended inventory mods. Version 0.2.1 reverts to 0.1.6 functionality (or you can install the 0.1.6 version). Sorry for the inconvenience.
First of all, love this mod, and I hope it never goes away. So thanks so much for creating it and keeping it current after each patch. I love the modding community for this and other games, you make great games better.
One thought though, would it be possible to make this mod also work with the armor stands and not just tombstones? Now that here are cosmetic clothes available through Hildir as well as it being useful to swap between heavy combat armor, light armor that allows for faster cross country travel and of course the new Eitr armor for the would-be mage builds, I'd really like to be able to have some way of swapping armor and clothing sets by clicking on an armor stand.
Getting the gear off the stands isn't that onerous it's jsut one click, of course followed by equipping each one seperately after. And (for me anyway) putting it in the right places since I like to keep my inventory sorted. But taking off your armor and putting on a stand is inconvenient. I don't keep my armor in the numbers slots, frankly between melee weapon, shield, bow, stamina and health pots plus tools 8 slots already is barely enough. So putting armor on the armor stand requires swapping armor for items in the number slots, clicking on each piece individually to place it on the stand and then moving the original items back into the numbered slots. It's painful enough that I don't bother wearing the cosmetics even when I am planning a day puttering around the home base. And while this is just a "roleplaying thing" it also bothers me to have my Viking out doing his gardening wearing 60 pounds of iron armor.
I'd suggest the armor stand functionality improvements to Iron Gate but frankly the modder community is more responsive and IG has a lot to do on the base game and new content already. And I was thinking this sort of fits into the Requip Me concept. So please give it some consideration. Cheers!!!
Love the idea! I'll start working on "DressMe" as soon as I'm done with the mod I'm making now.
BTW I just posted RequipMe 2.0 on Discord in #mod-beta-releases: https://discord.com/invite/qtQYsB4B5m. This version has smarter tombstone management for when you have 'extra' inventory that prevents an auto-equip. You can configure it to swap what you have into the tombstone, drop what you have, or take only what fits, but in all cases will re-equip you and give you corpse run. Any help testing this would be appreciated, but no obligation.
Letting you know your suggestion - to be able to swap equipment with what's on armor stands - has already been created. I was just getting around to creating it and found Armor Stand Swap by 12Hotshot while searching to see if something has already been done. Looks like there's a couple more as well: UsefulArmorStands and QuickswapArmorstands
I've already updated for when they release. I also have the 'next generation' available for beta test on Discord (which is not updated for 216 yet). This version has better tombstone management if you have items already in your inventory; you can swap your inventory into the tombstone, drop your inventory, or take what fits - but in any scenario, still get corpse run and bonus. If you'd care to try it out, here's the link: mod-beta-releases
[Edit] You can also get the beta for the original version updated for 216 there
I've also been using this in combination with EquipmentAndQuickslots (from RandyKnapp), and have run into an absolutely-hair-tearing issue of Requip causing a full tombstone, with equipment, to dump up-to-the-limit into my inventory and self destruct, always taking my armor, cloak and utility item with it to the void. THAT'S REALLY EXPENSIVE. IT MAKES ME WANT TO CRY.
I absolutely don't want anyone to cry! I'll test this scenario with E&Q (I have done some testing, but perhaps not with a full inventory) and see what I can find.
I've tested this with E&Q. So far I can't replicate what you've described. I have a full inventory with armor, utility and 3 items slotted in the extra quickslots. After my character dies, I access the tombstone, and since the total tombstone inventory does not fit in the 'vanilla' inventory slots, nothing is transferred and the tombstone remains open. Once I transfer items to the extra quickslots, the remaining items can be removed from the tombstone, and then the tombstone collapses.
Admittedly this defeats the purpose of RequipMe - to be able to retrieve and equip automatically, but it did not lose any equipment as you've described.
I'm wondering if there's an additional conflict that might be causing this behavior. If you send me your startup log, or a list of your other mods, in a private message, I'll look into it again.
I will also look to see if RequipMe can be enhanced to account for the additional quickslots provided by E&Q. This is not something I can undertake right away, however, and I have no ETA for providing this support (if possible)
Poked around with it while inquiring on the OdinPlus discord, I'm still testing, but it did prove to be occurring without RequipMe* , so you're off the hook for this one. Apologies for my frustration! PM coming shortly with full details as I pick this over. *edit; derp.
Absolutely love this mood Worked perfectly but i added a new mod that allows armor and other items by RandyKnapp called Extended Item Data Framework I think am pretty sure it kind of breaks this mod, so when you go to your grave stone it now opens it up like normal, and you have to hit take all, it will but doesn't equip it anymore, but if you don't and close the stone then open it again it will sometimes equip everything and put everything back in your back pack as normally did b4....not sure if there is anyways to fix this? I am positive this is the only mod conflicting with it as everything worked perfectly, flawlessly till this mod, and I run a ton of mods LOL...anyways not sure if there's anything you can do, but thought i would let you know feel free to contact me or comment anytime thanxz and all the community love on a wicked mod!
Hi. I've tested this with Extended Item Data Framework and I don't have the issue you've reported. I don't think the issue is with EIDF, however in testing I think I've identified the problem:
When you "Take All", Valheim first checks to see if you have enough space for the items, and then if you have the strength carry the weight of all the items. It only calls the method that triggers RequipMe if you have the space and the strength to carry all items.
If taking your inventory leaves you encumbered, Valheim leaves the tombstone dialog open for you to remove items from your inventory, and doesn't call RequipMe (even if the tombstone inventory is empty).
This would be most apparent if you use Meginjord, where your inventory will likely outweigh your 'natural' strength. When you 'take' that tombstone, the carry ability of Meginjord is not calculated, since it hasn't been equipped yet, and you remain encumbered. This would also happen if you were encumbered, without Meginjord, when your character died.
The 'workaround' is to close the tombstone, and immediately hit LeftAlt-Z (or your configured key) to manually trigger RequipMe, which will equip your gear (and Meginjord).
I will look to see if there's a way to either 'pre-equip' Meginjord, or include it's carry capacity in Valheim's calculation of successfully 'taking all'.
Please see if this is consistent with your issue and let me know. If there's something else going on, I'll send you a PM on how to set the log level to get more details.
Note that I have discovered an incompatibility with Extended Player Inventory, which overrides RequipMe's armor equip. You won't see an issue if you were wearing your best armor when you died, but if not, EPI will equip what you were wearing. See the post below.
Yeah seems you were right overall it still works fine just when i got a full bag no room for everything when i die...But its all good still one of the best mods out there I pair this one with the none sheathing animations makes the game so much better and less annoying to equip and run or fight!! Anyways thank you once again for your forthright and hard work!!
Hi. I downloaded and took a quick look at Extended Player Inventory. There's actually several key differences between RequipMe and EPI. They really serve very different purposes. RequipMe is not intended to be any type of inventory enhancer. It's designed to get you back into fighting stance as quickly as possible. At first glance, the mods appear to be mostly compatible.
The overlap, as you've noted, is that EPI also re-equips your armor after taking your inventory from your tombstone.
RequipMe is different in that:
There's no need to actually 'take' anything or go thru the tombstone dialog if your inventory fits - it's automatically transferred and the tombstone just 'deconstructs' - much faster if you're under attack.
It will equip your best weapon, shield & arrows - no need to select and equip them.
It will equip your best armor. It looks like EPI re-equips what you were wearing at the time you died from your tombstone, but not necessarily the best armor available. (This is an incompatibility. EPI re-equip overrides RequipMe, so you may not equip your best armor. I'm looking into it.)
Thanks for taking the time to comment! If you notice any other issues, please let me know.
Thanks for downloading RequipMe. Sorry you're having issues. I'm not aware of any defects, so perhaps there is an incompatibility with another mod. I'll send you a private message and try to help resolve this.
Nice. Getting all your stuff back and then being encumbered while enemies are chasing you is a pain. And if they're chasing you, you don't really have the option you pick and choose what you want to take...
Yes. Personal experience tends to be what prompts my mods! Went through dying twice trying to get my gear equipped helping someone with a boss. By the way, feel free to endorse if you like/use it.
Any known conflicts with other mods? I installed it in plugins and it does not equip from tombstone, I can see cfg with both manager and the cfg file itself.
I am running Epicloots, Valheim Plus, CLLC, Custom raids, monster labz. I will look again but not sure Valheim Plus has anything options to conflict.
Any help appreciated, looks like a very useful mod.
None that I've been made aware of, or with any of the mods I run. I don't use any of those you mentioned. If you use a mod manager, you could try unloading the other mods and testing with a character you don't mind losing skills via /die. If you disable half of them at a time, you should be able to quickly narrow down the conflict. If you can help identify the mod, I will download it and try to identify and resolve the issue. Without a manager, you can temporarily move the other plugins out of the BepInEx\plugins folder.
Edit: I've loaded all the above mods (and dependencies) and cannot replicate your issue. Sorry.
Nice mod is there any way we could get a mode that just allows us to equip our equipment piece by piece manually but instant? or spinoff instant equip mod possibly?
