First of all backup your savegame folder: Open "Run" via pressing "Windows+R" keys on your keyboard and copy the following: C:\Users\%username%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate Hit "OK" and it should open a folder named "Valheim" Make a copy of the whole folder, so if anything goes wrong you will be able to restore your worlds and characters.

Create an account on: https://www.nexusmods.com After you're logged in you can download the Vortex Mod Manager: https://www.nexusmods.com/about/vortex/When the download is complete, run it and let it install. Log into the mod loader and choose Games from the left. Search for Valheim.

Click Manage and then Download. It may not find the game folder automatically. If this happens, just click Continue to select the game folder. The default location is the following: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Valheim

After that click on Download Unstripped Assemblies. This takes you to the Nexusmods page: https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/15 Press Vortex button and click on Slow Download to get the needed files. It may ask you how to open the "nxm links" Just choose Vortex and fill in the box so it won't ask you that the next time.Then open up the Vortex again. It should have downloaded the files. Press install. If you miss the popup, navigate to Mods on the left and install and enable it from there.

Now to install the mods. Just click "Get more mods" in the Mods section. It will take you to the mod page: https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods Choose a mod you like and make sure to download it with the "Vortex" button. You may see a popup in the Vortex mod manager where you can install and enable the mod. If you miss it, navigate to the mods section on the left and click on the mod to install it and click it again to enable it as seen on the video.To automate installing and enabling mods go to the Settings tab and check specific 2 options as shown in the video.

To disable a mod, click on the mod once again. And to uninstall it, click on the small arrow and choose "Uninstalled" To completely remove a mod from the list, click on the small arrow instead
and choose "Remove related" and select the mod and desired option.

When you are happy with your mod selection navigate to Dashboard. You can see the number of active mods under the game tab. Launch the game by pressing on the game tab. If everything is done correctly the game should start fine and the mods should be working.
