      I tried, but he kept chasing me. I couldn't even leave the area because Geralt loses his ability to use doors while in combat.
      
      Reloaded, and nothing spawned in that area. A cockatrice showed up in the hedge maze, though... I left it raging there after much running, punching and almost dying.

      My gloves do 500 bludgeoning and silver damage, so they're quite effective. But they were actually created for those situations where Geralt refuses to draw his sword.
