About this mod
Improves inventory icons for many item categories, to make them more distinctive and recognizable

In vanilla game, there are entire item categories (i.e. recipes) that share the same icon, making it quite difficult to tell them apart in shops
Then, other single items (i.e. ingredients, food, alcohol) in some cases two or more distinct items use the same icon, or a very similar one, reducing variety and still introducing the problem of having to hover over them to understand if it is what you are looking for.
This mod attempts to solve this and to enhance the visual variety of your favorite Witcher's collection of every kind of stuff that he grabs around. Another goal is to fix incorrect icons for weapons/armor when they do not faithfully depict items that Geralt actually wears.
Please note that this is an ongoing project: I plan to incrementally add more items and item categories, even if at the moment only a few of them are released. I don't have a set timeframe, but you can expect this mod to grow over time.
These are the items and categories that the mod is editing so far:
- Unique recipe icons for each item category, i.e. weapons, armor types, alchemy items, runes, glyphs, etc. [v1.0.0]
- Unique tiered rune icons, with assets from Better Icons - Rune (No Icons version). Included here with kind permission from RovanFrost. Please endorse his mod too! [v1.0.0]
Options
Different versions are provided:
Main archive, complete package containing all icons as detailed above.
Optional archives, each one dedicated to a single category, currently:
- Recipe Icons
I have not included as separate downloads icons that I have not created myself, for obvious reasons (you can get them from their original mods)
Game version
This mod was created for and tested with the latest released version: Next-Gen 4.04 Redkit Update 2
I don't use or support older game versions, especially Old-Gen v1.32. I have no time or desire to do so. I won't accept any requests about this, if you want to use my mods, your best option is to update your game.
Installation
The recommended way to install this is with "The Witcher 3 Mod Manager"
You can alternatively also manually place it inside your "mods" folder inside the main game directory
Compatibility
Whenever possible, I only edited source PNG icon files, in some (well, many) other cases I also had to edit XML files. Luckily enough, quite often icon references are on a single line, so this should be fairly compatible and merge-friendly with everything that does not directly try to do that same thing.
If you experience some conflicts that I can manage to solve within the scope of this mod, feel free to report them. I cannot guarantee to make it compatible with everything or to adapt it to any mod configuration, but if some light and easy edits may improve it, I may consider it.
