About this mod

gives geralt a new design inspired by the books, with lore accurate scars, eyes ect.....

Requirements
Permissions and credits
while some people like geralt from vanilla witcher 3 i'm not a fan and lately i've been kind of obssessed with recreating something close to what he would look like in the books(kinda ironic for someone who always choose triss to release a book acurate geralt lol)so i searched on the net to find different sources to try to make an appearance mod matching his design let's get into more details

first for starter there's no mesh in this mod ; i don't know how to do that but i suggest Gwent Card Night to Remember Geralt Face  that work fantastic with the textures another option is banjomir blaviken mesh lastly i suggest geralt head tweak that work well too, beyond those recommendation you're free to use any mesh mods but i can't garantee you the textures (especially the scars) will remain in the same place they might be stretched and look slightly different, do at your own risk

second i won't brag it's my whole original work, the original texture is from BRUTAL FACE MOD 2 that by itself is already a really good book accurate retexture that artist andri leave the permission to edit

third while i think it's very close to the books, it's my vision, i don't force you to agree with it. that's why i say it's inspired, not accurate, not canon, inspired; sapkowski was always vague on geralt appearance so it's open to interpretation this is mine and i share it with you if you want it

fourth the mod is composed of two version :

-the last wish : the last wish is the whole package ; face retexture, eyes retexture, manticore armor retexture if you just want the whole mod use that
- book inspired geralt : it just have the texture for the face, the eyes and the manticore are in optional files alone if you just want one of the part

what is different in that mod ?

good question first i removed all the scars on the face of geralt, especially the cocatrice scar, while it look cool the scar is an invention from cdpr, there is four scar that are confirmed by the books

  • the forehead scar confirmed in crossroad of raven spoiler alert :
"Enough," Meritxell said. "Enough, or you'll kill him." If you haven't already killed! "Breathe, breathe," assured Cibor Ponti, tearing the medallion from the witcher's neck. "It takes some blood," Beauregard Frick said. "The wounds of the head are bleeding heavily," Ponti said with a face of an expert. Meritxell knelt on the witcher's chest and slashed the knife broadly on his forehead, under the hairline. In fact, the blood immediately pulsed from the wound, swelling in waves, flooding his face and neck. Meritxell stood up.

  • the strigga scar that is pretty well known as many mods adds it on geralt (i didn't touch it it was already on the base mod)
  • the cheek scar he got in a fight against vereena it's up to interpretation if it left  a marking scar or not so i decided to give geralt the same scar than the one from the polish serie of 2001 that was apparently faithfull to the books
  • the ear scar he lost a part of his ear during tower of swallows while i couldn't edit out the missing part so i gave his ear a damaged design

the other thing i modified on brutal face mod 2 is the wrinkles, geralt is a witcher and have slowed down aging,on top of that he have higher mutation than most witchers he shouldn't look that old i removed some wrinkles and left some others for a unique design still a bit aged but youngish looking

otherwise some light details like the stubble has been changed to match my preference

last big change is the eyes that in the books has only been described as dark or matching the one of a viper
Finally, came the seventh day. The male awoke and opened his eyes, and his eyes were as those of a viper…
so i gave him viper like eyes and i made them brown/hazel making them seems lightly orange under some lights it took me time but they are fully compatible with modular eyes with their own version similar to the books with the pupil filling the iris

outside of the retexture for geralt i added a small one for the manticore based after this comic book page:

the main version of the outfit is for the manticore legendary version but there's on for the base manticore in a similar design, hope you enjoy it !!
