modlist swapping to swap between your favorite modlists in just a second save swapping to stop corrupting your saves whenever you swap between EE or GM and Vanilla modlist imports to add your favorite modlists directly in your current modlist modlist packing to merge full modlists once and use them as if they were a single mod that you'll never have to merge again shared modlists to avoid copying HDRP every time you make a new modlist
you can use the shared modlists for many things, not just for HDRP because you don't want to waste ten gigabytes of space. It's the main use case for modlist import or shared modlists but you can use them for other things too. A good example that comes to mind is when you have a large modlist with a hundred mods and you're scared to ruin your modlist whenever you add a new merged mod into the pack. Well that's something where modlist imports can help, imagine you have your original GhostMode modlist and you want to add SlotSlotSlot, we all know it's a risky mix and for this we create a totally new modlist that we call GhostMode.v2. And in this modlist we import the original GhostMode modlist, we copy its mergeinventory and its current mergedfiles and place them in the modlist then we add SlotSlotSlot and install it. After that we start merging, what's the issue, if we break the merges we can still install the original GhostMode modlist and the game will be back to its previous state, and if we succeed we can continue to experiment with risky merges or we can just enjoy the game.
You can also use shared modlists and modlist imports to organise your modlist, for example i have a main modlist called lazarus.core with just Lazarus and EE that imports lazarus.extra for other mods like RER, shared.visuals for my lighting mods and HDRP, shared.amm for AMM and shared.characters for various face textures for Geralt and other witchers.
