The game ships with XeSS version 1.1.0.21 as of the 4.04 update. Here you can download the latest XeSS version 1.2.0.13 that originally ships with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
I noticed a slightly more stable image, greater clarity in distant objects, and reduced memory usage with this update.
The newer 1.2.0.13 version seems to have degraded jittering. Use the older 1.2.0.10 version for better quality.
Version 1.2 includes loaders and dependencies, eliminating the need for igxess.dll, XeFX.dll, and XeFX_Loader.dll.
To install, simply replace the old dll file with the new one in the 'bin\x64_dx12' directory.
I have not found any other mirror for the 1.2 version—neither on the official GitHub page nor on TechPowerUp. Therefore, I decided to put it here for you to download. It is now available on the official Intel XeSS GitHub page https://raw.githubusercontent.com/intel/xess/main/bin/libxess.dll
If you are unable to choose XeSS from the in-game menu, you can modify the AAMode to 7 (AAMode=7) in the dx12user.settings file. This functions perfectly on all GPU brands.
You can apply this updated dll to any other game that also provides support for XeSS.
