Version 1.01
Added advanced settings to customize other Global Illumination Options
This mod leverages the power of RTX Global Illumination to make the fires bounce around the environment more and fill the dark gaps, eliminating or reducing the "point light" effect where you can clearly see the placed lights in the environment. Now the dark areas should feel filled with light and a lot more traversable and cozy (and hopefully more realistic). I've added 4 different levels of bounce intensity via menu, so you can choose how cozy the environment can be now. It is completely fire and lighting mod agnostic, meaning that it should work with every lighting mod and every fire mod out there! The only requirement is that you have Ray Tracing enabled. It also has no performance impact. It goes well with my No Artificial Player Light mod! All of the screenshots section were taken with the Default value and Very Cozy value as it better demonstrates the differences, but your mileage may vary depending on the location/weather/lighting mod.
Installation:
1. Download the file; 2. Extract it using the unpacker of your choosing (eg. winzip/winrar/7zip); 3. Drag and drop the extracted folders (bin and Mods) into your "\The Witcher 3\" game directory; 4. Navigate to "The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\"; 5. Add the following line to "dx12filelist.txt" at the bottom:
cozierfires.xml;
6. Play the game; 7. Configure how cozy you want your game to be!
Uninstallation:
1. Set the option to Default in the mod menu to reset the value it's default state. 2. Remove the installed mod from "The Witcher 3\Mods\" folder and remove cozierfires.xml from" "The Witcher 3\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\";
