The Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, also known as the Resurgent-class Battlecruiser, was an iconic model of battlecruiser and Star Destroyer built by Kuat-Entralla Engineering. Based on the Imperial-class Star Destroyers of the Galactic Empire, it featured advanced weaponry and extreme size.

This sub-mod adds the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer/Battlecruiser to the Imperial Ascendancy faction in the Star Wars Interworlds total conversion mod.

Acquisition

Similar to other Battlecruisers in SWI, it can be acquired from the Imperial Ascendancy faction only as a blueprint to build at your own shipyard - or if you can manage to take one from them.

Implementation

The Imperial Ascendancy will now have a maximum of 2 patrols led by a Resurgent with an ISD I and Procursator escort, similar to Home One/Lucrehulk patrols. The ISD led patrol was reduced in quotas to make room.

Balance

This as an earlier version of the Resurgent compared to the one employed by the First Order much later on - it is nowhere near the power level suggested in that lore (1500+ turrets etc).

The Resurgent is balanced around the Home One Starcruiser and Lucrehulk Battleship in both cost and power, being the strongest of the three in a 1v1 if it is allowed consistent favorable angles of fire. With poor angles it will lose, in some cases very badly. It is also fast for its size, but nothing like the lore suggests.

It's power distribution is heavily weighted on the topside, and thus you want to engage from angles where topside turrets are able to fire on your target (preferably Fore/Port/Starboard). Below firepower is extremely weak compared to top, especially so if the target is located Fore-Below as very few turrets have angles there.

The Medium turrets on the Port/Starboard bottom edges are rotation locked so they cannot shoot towards the Fore, but the game does not take possible firing angles into account when calculating Zone Burst Weapon Output - so this stat is very inaccurate for Fore. Disable those turret groups if you want to get a better idea of potential Fore output.

Installation

Take the sov_resurgent folder from the .zip file and place it into ~X4 Foundations\extensions\.
