Heroes for SWI
THIS MOD IS STILL IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT. Expect balance changes and updates.
 -= Requires the most recent Dreadnaughts and Battlecruisers =-
This mod adds a collection of ships from the lore (and some custom ones), complete with HERO tags and stats to accommodate. Hero ships have increased durability, usually by a baseline of 25%, along with altered loadouts and other addons. New in the 7.5 update as well are Ship Tiers, allowing you to upgrade any ship of your choosing to Heroic stats and higher! Defeated Heroes in combat will drop Vestiges of Fate. To unlock the tier mods, you must research them. Tier 1 upgrades can be researched with a copious amount of Rhydonium Cores, while tier 2 and 3 require you to seek out the mod's new boss battles! Additionally, most of the mod's Heroic tier equipment can be used on any ship, allowing you to completely upgrade your entire fleet throughout the course of the game. This unique approach to progression should shake your games up!

BOSS BATTLES
  • UMBRA, RESURGENT - Found in Ziost, this ancient Sith star destroyer possesses the enslaved Force Spirit Umbra. Defeat it and claim her, and she will unlock the secrets of the ship and its extremely powerful Force-siphoning weapon tech.
  • IMPERIUM, MANDATOR-III - Found in Sump, and commanded by an experimental super-intelligence, the Imperium and its fleet represent a capstone in Ascendancy tech. Demolish it, and claim the blueprints for the vessel and access to tier 2 mods.
  • AETERNUM, EXECUTOR - Found in Firrerre, and guarded by the strongest fleet the galaxy has ever seen. Aeternum itself wields a spinal superlaser array, and is guarded by a cadre of Conqueror-class Superdestroys also host to terrifying superlasers. Destroy it and gain access to the ancient knowledge it holds.
  • LEGION, MANDATOR-II - Found at Kamino, Legion utilizes a mixed loadout from all other boss rewards. Destroy it to claim a massive amount of Vestiges of Fate. This fleet can be rebuilt as long as Kamino isn't wiped out, allowing you to potentially farm it.

These ships, other than boss battles, can be obtained by theft, custom start, or purchasing the blueprint from the respective faction and refitting the heroic ship yourself!

8.10.24 - Initial release.
8.11.24 - Fixed Tantive engines. Added Orthavan, Vader's TIE Advanced.
8.18.24 - Fixed Vader's shields being at NRL instead of IMP. Fixed typo on certain ships that prevented countermeasures from properly appearing. Added Invisible Hand, Ebon Hawk, Oppressor, Din Djarin's N1.
8.29.24 - Added Red Squadron X-Wing, Mythosaur, Slave I, Endurance, a secret, custom weapons for N1, couple small bug fixes.
9.10.24 - All non-S ships now spawn within their respective factions! Added Quaestor, End of Days. Total balance pass on all ship speeds. S ships should be much more reasonable now! Small bug fixes, mostly to do with localization.
9.17.24 - Added Soulless One, Millennium Falcon, Clone Wars Venators. More bug fixes. Ships properly spawning now! Costs, both credit and material, have been normalized across the board; these values are tentative and will be further refined as I find each ship's niche.
10.15.24 - Added Salvation, Phoenix Home, Saak'ak, !Umbra!, !Infinity!, and appropriate jobs. A few bug fixes (primarily related to jobs and respawning ships), and some typo fixes.
11.4.24 - Added ships: Lootbug, Galaxy's Edge, Inferno Squadron TIE/ln, Lightmaker, Sterdic Star, Corvus, Katana, Protector, Battle-Forged, Profundity, !Executor!. Added research for all ships in the mod. Researches are grouped by faction. Millennium Falcon now has an extra weapon, mirrored to match its Return of the Jedi upgrades. Ship blueprint costs cut by 50%-Heroes now have colored names to make them stand out further. Tweaked rotation and inertia values on a few of the slower XL ships to give them extra maneuverability without a new engine. Salvation got some turret swaps to help separate its role a bit more. Endurance got a slight speed bump, and the position of its ion turrets changed to be more consistent. Fixed: Salvation and Phoenix Home not spawning, a couple small typos.
12.15.24 - -various small fixes like names not being displayed correctly-fix for dock size bugs present in base edition-small turret adjustments to a few ships (namely sterdic star and lightmaker and at least one or two more)-adjustments to jobs to make the AI less likely to send a hero to its early death-properly removed maintenance from the few ships that still have it-for this version, I am going to allow the AI to rebuild destroyed heroes. I have no idea how this interacts with the innate ship caps so that’ll be a matter of public testing (regarding ship theft)-also for this version, I have enabled the ships to be purchased from their respective factions as well, direct from shipyards. Small caveat -- you will only be able to purchase the new ships on a new save. Extras:
  • New addition: The Umbral Fleet! Finally realized how I originally intended. This extremely powerful fleet sits in Ziost, and consists of the mighty Resurgent-class Umbra as well as 10 Umbral Harrowers, 20 Umbral Terminus, and 200 Umbral Furies. This will not be an easy fight! These ships are uncapturable and exist purely to kill. Your reward for their destruction is the trapped Force Spirit Umbra, who will trade her freedom in exchange for researching either Umbra itself or its Force-Siphoning weapons, which can be used on any ship.
  • Completely reworked Umbra's weaponry and stats
  • Executor, Base Delta Zero, Galactic, and Imperium are now marked uncapturable; these ships will have similar boss fight loot to Umbra in a future release, with Galactic eventually being replaced by an MC85 or Viscount boss fight once those ships are released
  • Fixed weird shield issues on Vanguard and Nightblade
  • Pride of Mandalore renamed to Suneater

-Supercapital heroes are now in a separate research after the era, sorted by tier and side. For example, you’d research Rebellion first, then Devastator, then Vanguard, then Executor.
-The following ships are now “Supercapital” tier: Devastator, Oppressor, Wrath, Resolute, Home One, Fenelar, Invisible Hand, Saak’ak. They will receive hull and/or loadout buffs to justify their new roles. These are meant to be “faction leader” ships that are a genuine challenge to face in open combat, and will reward as many Vestiges as an XXL hero for defeating them.
-Non-combat Heroes now have custom universal storages
-Fixed hero Praetors having wrong dock size tags
