About this mod

A ship and combat tweak for X4. 10x higher ship top speed, no travel drive, 8x longer range weaponry, and increased draw distance. Save game compatible, supports all DLC and story. Easy to edit for player preference.

Ship Changes:

- Ship top speed ~8-10x higher over vanilla, 2-4x higher in reverse, and Travel drive removed on all ships. Boost removal is optional.
- Added version without engine boost and a version with vanilla ship + travel drive performance.
- Small and medium ships get 5x faster strafe top speed and 2x stronger strafe thrust.
- Ship top speed and acceleration is dictated by cargo capacity, weapon count, and shields.
- Shield regeneration delay removed for all ships (0.25s for small), but ships have around ~3-5x slower shield regen.
- Some ships with fewer shield generator slots gain HP buff; Split have best hull in class.

- Standardized engines, mass, and shields for various classes of ships across all factions similar to Elite Dangerous.
- L and XL ships gain over 4x mass. S and M ships gain around 1x - 2x mass.
- Sentinel, Vanguard, and Raider all have same top speed, but retain different hull and mass.
- Sentinel class for L and XL gains an additional health buff.

Weapon Changes:

- Weapon range increased 8x excluding beam lasers.
- Many weapons gain 2x more damage.
- Asgard main weapon's damage nerfed, heat reduced.
- Xenon L Graviton turret damage nerfed significantly, but it has excellent range and speed.

- Beam lasers get up to 1.2-1.4x range increase and doubled projectile speed.
- Astrid weapons get a damage buff to be competitive with corvettes. Increased heat buildup.
- Shard weapons get a damage and accuracy buff.

- Gatling weapons and Plasma cannons have much lower heat output.
- Split Boson Lance has 10x lower heat output, 4x lower damage, and 0.5x reload speed.
- Timelines weapons reworked for in-game story balance.
- Meson Stream gets lower damage, faster reload time, and improved cooling rate.

0.23: Syntax fix in regions_definitions.xml for removing damage effects. Thanks to DeadAir for providing the .xml. Plutus gets a small top speed buff. Barbarossa and Teuta get a small speed nerf.

0.24: Further increased draw distance for enhanced long range combat and spotting.
Weapon fire visible up to 100km away, XL ships now visible up to 100km, L ships 60km, M ships 40km, and S/XS 30km (unchanged).
Minimal performance hit on my 2015 quad core which gets half the performance of a 5600X.
Player spacesuit gets a 4x speed buff. Erlking gets a small speed nerf.
Astrid primary weapon damage buffed, but its heat buildup is significantly higher.

0.25: Syntax error fixes for particle_effects.xml and renderparam_library.xml

0.26: Bug fix for rare occasion for ships to temporarily disappear far away. Kha'ak weapons gain damage increase. Medium shard turret gains small damage increase.

0.27: Split and Paranid large trade/mining ships and Erlking gain a small speed buff. Boarding pods gain 3x top speed.

0.28: Reduced heat output from Bolt Repeaters from all factions and Plasma Cannons. Reduced hull damage from Ion Cannons, but it is still higher than vanilla. Ares gets a small speed buff but gains some mass. Shih gains a bit of mass.

Shard turret gains an additional 20% damage buff. Shard weapons and Medium Bolt turrets gain 20% damage increase.

Missiles reworked with their mass being reverted to vanilla values. DLC missiles now supported. Range is significantly higher, with their top speed 10x over vanilla speeds. Missile lifetime 5x shorter.

0.41: Missile lock range fixed.

0.42: Boost duration for L, and XL ships significantly increased. Small and Medium ship shield regeneration speed doubled.

0.43: Added support for ArgonMatt's Agamemnon Battleship. Fixed mass typo on Zeus Vanguard. Condor gains 15% mass. Odysseus Sentinel gains 19% mass.
Odysseus Vanguard and E gain 16% mass. Stork gains 30% mass. Behemoth Vanguard loses 9% mass. Osprey gains 15% mass.

0.44: Astrid, Barbarossa, Teuta, Vulture and L Miners gain 2x mass. Beam lasers get a 66% range reduction. Cthonios E loses some mass.

0.45: Burst Ray range nerfed. Nemesis gains a bit of mass.

0.50: Burst Ray range lowered by 6% and its bullet velocity now matches beam lasers.
Boson Lance does 4x less damage and has 10x less heat buildup. 0.5x Reload.
Discoverer, Guillemot, Nodan, Kestrel, Pegasus, and Rapier lose 75% cargo capacity.
Nimcha gains 20% mass. Nodan loses 20% mass. Falcon Sentinel loses 20% mass.
Takoba loses 15% mass. Xenon S gains 2x storage. Radar range reduced.
Removed more fog for higher FPS boost in asteroid fields.

Regal Barracuda gains speed and loses mass. Zeus Sentinel gains a bit of health. Xenon SE speed fixed when captured.

0.96.1: Fixed Xenon E stats. Added back "Better Docking To Ships" since it appears to be working fine. Thank you General Vash/Rumble16 for making Slow Docking to Ships Mod and letting me include it.

0.96.2: Fixed Sapporo missile range, nerfed its radar range down to 60km, doubled its missile capacity. Buffed Electromagnetic turret range.

0.98.7: Significantly improved AI combat behavior when attacking larger ships when in-sector. Xenon B can now equip xenon impulse projector weapons. Future built Xenon B will prefer to be outfitted with Xenon impulse projectors instead of plasma cutters. Fixed Xenon H engine reverse thrust and boost duration. Reduced cost of Xenon Plasma Cutter for Xenon.

0.98.9: Medium and small beam lasers (excluding turrets) can now 'reload' twice as fast as vanilla. Shard weapons get an increase in accuracy. Terran pulse lasers get a small decrease in accuracy. Burst Ray Mk1 gets a rate of fire increase and a damage decrease. Small shard cannons get their damage fixed.

0.99.0: Slightly increased retrieval distance for ships when docking. Removed more collisions between small/medium ships and stations when they are trying to dock while still following traditional pathing. 0.99.1: Small and Medium combat vessels gain additional strafing performance using new flight model features. Three racing ships' strafing acceleration reduced to sane levels. All-round/combat mk2 and mk3 thrusters get their cost values swapped for smarter AI builds and a better High preset. Syntax errors fixed on several ships.     
S/M Ships get an additional reverse top speed buff for better scrap tug performance once destroyed. Added support for Lc4Hunter's Split Viper and CPSDO 7.50.
Cormorant loses mass and storage capacity but gains speed. Racing ships lose cargo space. Reverse thrust is slightly nerfed on small and medium engines.
All-round small and medium thrusters get large performance buff to be a slightly lower tier under combat thrusters. Undid retrieval distance changes.
Fixed Split all-round medium Mk1 stats. L/XL thrusters get a performance buff. XL/L combat ships get additional strafing performance. Nerfed Yaki Corvette storage capacity. 

0.99.2: Tweaked AI scripts for better collision avoidance and faster docking at a ship moving quickly. Increased potential flee distance for AI when attacked.



How to install:


drag xdangerous folder into extensions. Does not require new save. Can be safely removed at any time.
