Fork from szmind's UFO Squadrons Unleashed 2, v1.10. Just UFO Squadrons with (almost) nothing else. Vanilla LW balance guaranteed!

It simply removes all the "advanced" features where possible: Secondary slot, Ufo stances, most range related bonuses/penalties, pilot's XP, careers, traits, Training center. All parameters are brought back to vanilla where possible: +3 Aim for a kill 30 max, no way to increase Def/Dodge. Pilots just acquire +1 squadron size per rank except Lt, as they are already granted minimum size 2.
All weapons are long range (there is basically no range in vanilla LW), and you can decide to go short with any weapon for a minor +5 Aim bonus, at the cost of being automatically targetted by the UFO(s) with the same Aim bonus. You may choose not to use this feature however.
Aliens will start fielding Scout squadrons after 90 Alien research if they have at least level 1 resources, then Fighters after 180 Research and level 2 resources, then Raiders from 270 Research and level 3 resources, and finally Destroyers after 360 Alien research with level 4 resources.
All UFO's have double HP to maintain air game balance.
