They all work, I tested each one individually, I just can't guarantee I know my left from my right. 12/10/2022 We got a release date! I can tell you all now that between how many tools will need to be updated before I can update this, and the time it'll take me to do, this mod might not be updated immediately after launch. It might not need to be, but for all I know it won't be possible to update if the loose files aren't in the game anymore (but they should be given the filename). It is my intent to have this mod updated, but I probably won't until the middle of my playthrough or my second. I want to play too! And this mod isn't crucial to my game.
3/1/21 Updated for Patch 4. Works on Early Access - v4.1.99.3036. I can't manage to get the model to flip the other direction, no settings in LSLib or Blender will make it show up how it used to in game, so we get to mix it up a bit. I'll probably try to fix this eventually, but for now, at least her hair isn't made of metal anymore. 3/5 Turns out for some reason I kept installing the same file that wasn't the one I uploaded, that's why I wasn't seeing the difference, nor the fact it was straight up broken.
Given that most dialogue has her left side turned to the camera, it's probably better to leave it this way so her face is framed instead of obscured. You can DM me if you're really passionate about which way her hair lays.

If it's still not working, try installing it correctly. I've written it enough times, and confirmed with enough people who are capable of correctly installing it, that it works.
Its also been brought to my attention that if you buy a legitimate version of the game this might fix your problem. Cracks and repacks f*** with the file structure. Besides being illegal, neither I nor Nexus Mods in general offer support for illegal copies.
How can I install the hair color to change how the hair will look after the hair change event? I want to install both the brown from the begining, and the ash variant to change after the event.
The style is changing the name to HAIR_HUM_F_Shadowheart_Wrath_A_Spring.GR2 , right?
So if you want to replace the hair after the change, pick whatever hair file and put it in the above location, and rename it to HAIR_HUM_F_Shadowheart_Wrath_A_Spring.gr2
Can't live without this, I downloaded your mod before starting the game, they did her dirty, would have given me trauma by just encountering her without your mod.

For anyone else who's getting confused about how to install it, here's what I did. It's actually very simple; I just had a hard time figuring out what I was supposed to do. You DON'T need the BG3 Mod Installer, and you DON'T need the Mod Fixer.
1) Download the 3 rar files for this mod: If you want brown or black hair in the 'Fluffy' style parted on her left, you only need the main file ('Shadowheart Alt Hair') If you want a different color, you also need the 'Pick a Color' file. If you want an alternate style, you also need the 'Pick a Style' file.
2) Explore inside the .rar files, and you'll see the following folders: Main: Recommended\Data\Generated Recommended\Data\Public Pick a Color: Pick a Color\Ash\Data\Public Pick a Color\Auburn\Data\Public Pick a Color\Blonde\Data\Public etc Pick a Style: Pick a Style\Fluffy\Left\Data\Generated Pick a Style\Fluffy\Right\Data\Generated Pick a Style\Smooth\Left\Data\Generated Pick a Style\Smooth\Right\Data\Generated The 'Generated' folder determines the style, and the 'Public' folder determines the color. In the main rar file, the Generated folder contains the Fluffy Left style, and the Public folder contains Brown hair.
3) Pick the combo you want. Examples: Brown hair, Fluffy, part on the Left:Main Generated + Main Public Brown Hair, Smooth, part on the Right:Smooth\Right Generated + Main Public Blonde hair, Fluffy, part on the Left:Main Generated + Blonde Public Auburn hair, Fluffy, part on the Right:Fluffy\Left Generated + Auburn Public
What if you want black? Simple: You don't need any Public folder at all! That will make the game revert to her standard hair color.
4) Now you've picked your combo. How to install it? If you have a steam install, find this folder. It's full of .pak files. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data
Copy your chosen files into this folder. For example, I wanted the Fluffy style + black hair, so my "Baldurs Gate 3\Data" folder looks like this: Generated Localization A bunch of .pak files The Localization + pak files were all there when I started, part of the base game. The Generated folder is from the mod. If I had wanted a hair color besides black, I'd also have a Public folder here.
5) That's it, it's now installed. Boot up the game. You will get a warning about a Data Mismatch: You can ignore that.

Just a PSA: you can in fact pin posts and still have them be able to be replied to. You simply need to unlock them - you will find the option in the "Manage" button's drop-down menu
