Is Beast supposed to have a top speed of ~110 with this mod? 'Cause it does and it makes the Badlands race impossible: even if I perform perfectly, the other cars are just twice, if not thrice as fast.

Don't worry, you're not alone: I frankly haven't found the reason for this behaviour, but at the start of the Badlands race, the Beast behaves normally - accelerates nicely, goes up to a decent speed, and eventually - at some random point - I hit something like an invisible wall and boom, the vehicle doesn't go much faster than 50-60 mph anymore...uninstalled the mod, everything worked fine.

I get 134 out of Beast.
My Merrimac Warlock goes 225 mph with CVO - and I haven't modified his file at all.

I wish I knew what files are being referenced by the mod, because it seems apparent that the reason we all have unique results is because we have all previously made changes that are impacting CVO's intended function.

Finally I found the culprit, which is a file called "thorton_mackinaw_nomad_tweak.lua" in the mod. It obviously got some parameters wrong and caused the beast to not drive properly. The solution is to adjust this file based on the parameters of other vehicles or delete it directly.

Fix for Herrera Outlaw "Weiler" weapons missing (as of version 2.0.1).

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/15yOYeRS-5njjVJG4L1kv89iv0EYub_-Q/view
(When the mod updates, delete herrera_outlaw_tweak.lua (or all of the old files), or it'll probably cause a conflict.)

    Hey all,
I noticed the Weiler was missing its machine guns, so I tinkered around a bit. Seems like the weaponized variant of each car needs its own script, since it's basically cloning the data of the car's base variant, modifying it, then writing it to all the applicable variants of the car. Trouble is, it's using the unweaponized version as a base for the Weiler as well. So I removed the Weiler-specific parts from herrera_outlaw_tweak.lua, and made a modified herrera_weiler_tweak.lua, which reads and writes only the Weiler's data, therefore preserving its weaponized status. Or whatever. I don't really know what I'm doing, but it seems to work.

I hope the author doesn't mind me posting this temporary band-aid fix.

Is there plans to add the Quadra Type66 680TS to the modpack?

And if it already is, it feels very.. slow? According to the vanilla speedo, the Type 66 Javelina can get to ~450km/h on side streets compared to the 680TS' ~200. I feel like his is a bit...unbalanced?

Does this impact vanilla cars only? Would there be any impact on installed vehicles through mods?

If a modded vehicle has stats that are based on one of the vanilla vehicles touched by this mod then it will be affected by this mod.
I think, I might be wrong.

Is every car supposed to pivot around the direct center of their model? It seems much more apparent with sports cars like the Quadra Turbo-R which is incredibly squirrely and floats about like a hovercraft. I'm guessing there's no way around that until someone comes up with a mod to shift the center of mass for vehicles.

    Hey,

first off, thanks for your great mod. Love the way the cars handle with it (also, faster caliburn :-)).

One thing that showed up for me, which is why I am writing this post, is a CTD when driving through night city at high speeds (>210).
Or in other words: When lots of objects are being loaded into the GPU and VRAM is getting filled up (always have 3GB VRAM free tho).

I saw in the bugs section there have been fixes for CTD issues while driving before.

Could it be Version 2.21 of Cyberpunk 2077 needs another fix, too?

    Cheers!

edit: I've been looking further into the problem.. it looks like it's RTX-related in conjunction with specific ultra plus configuration settings. Will return later to report back.

      @fkrueger

Just my 2 cents here: as far as i know, motherboards and video cards are hard-coded to shut down if they overheat, to literally not melt in your pc case or start a fire in your room.

Driving with high speed + high settings just means that the videocard tries to render even more stuff, even faster.
Smacking some higher traffic/higher population and/or higher graphics mods on top of that is just asking for it LOL.

Last but not least - even if somehow you managed to jury rig and link three i9s processors together and five RTX 5090 together and have a NASA pc, if the developers did not code the compatibility well, it's all in vain (and,as you already mentioned that you still have 3GB free VRAM -> this just could mean bad compatibility coding with the processor and/or the graphic card).

So...yeah, you need to find some middle ground.

      Yea, you're completely right.
The main problem seems to be internal performance issues when lots of asset loading / rendering needs to take place.
I had a similar problem with Improved Environment LODs at slower car speeds.

      And FYI:
There is no overheating going on here.
I even tried underclocking / undervolting the GPU so it's much cooler during gameplay than it was with default settings. (around 72-75C GPU, 54C CPU, 68C on NVM/e SSD).

Sadly I had to disable RTX completely because it was causing crashes all over the place. -.-

Oh, and thanks for your insights :)

Overheating is almost never going to be the problem unless you're running an absolute potato.
      Sincerely...

That kind of problem almost certainly lies in a poorly implemented performance configuration put in place by the user. CTD's and other crashing are downstream and likely caused by the mods, unresolved conflicts, and the s#*! optimization of the game.
You're far more likely to run out of VRAM because of a conflict or memory leak than thermally throttle your card or your chipset  so I wouldn't worry about it...

However, if you do - you need to revisit your assumptions regarding your approach to performance tweaking as well as inspect your build. I mean disassemble it, reapply your paste or a thermal sheet, verify the torque of the cooler's fasteners with an inch pound rated torque screwdriver and/or perhaps increase the thermal capacity of your loop.

      I just stepped out of a 9980XE running a 3090Ti into a Threadripper 7975wx with a 5090 Astral.
There is no way you're generating more heat than either of these systems are capable of producing - and pushed to the point of insanity - 2077 isn't even taxing the 360 AIO the Threadripper is temporarily running on.

I'll post screenshots if you doubt the veracity of my claims.

      Thanks for the info.
I was having fun messing around driving like mad, then it just crashed... now i know why.

      [EDIT]
I forgot i had turned off Not So Good Draw Distance, turning it on solved my problems for some reason. Nuts.
Now i can drive like a total lunatic.

It's almost as if you didn't read my post where I mention that I just retired a 9980XE - which is a 7980 with slightly higher clocks and temps.
So far, the 7975WX seems to run a bit hotter than the intel.

Regardless, it seems Adawulf solved his problem after all... Turns out it was caused by a mod and not hardware overheating.

      Crazy, right?
It's like, who could have seen that coming?

I turned NSGDD on for shits and giggles since the game was crashing anyway, wanted to see how much faster I could make it crash with it enabled.
But it actually removed the game crashes for me for some reason, which is really weird since NSGDD should make it crash even more...
Oh well, I guess you win some, even if it's hecking weird *shrug*

Am I crazy or does this not do anything ? The cars still steer from the middle, the cars still wildly swing if you press turn even slightly too long, the handling is still like being on ice, it's just awful.

I've never understood how this game has the same handling as it does from day 1 until now, no matter the mods I get. I must be doing something wrong right ? I cleared out ini files, I cleared out all driving mods. Just this. But it changed NOTHING. Using the default car you get with V,or Johnny's porsche, to make sure they're cars that would be edited. They turn horribly, they turn so late after you try turning so you end up holding the button too long, and so they veer wildly into the direction so they turn 90 degrees unless you tap-tap-tap the button. It's unplayable.

Bikes are OK. Bikes have always been OK though, it's why I used Jackie's arch since the game came out. But I wanna use weaponised vehicles ever since I tried MaxTac's rocket launching tank-on-wheels. But ya same thing, turns from the middle swinging wildly into the direction you press.

I tried switching to gamepad and honestly it wasn't even that much better. There has to be some reason my experience is so bad, and that mods do nothing to fix it. Does anyone have any idea why ?
