If you are having issues installing and/or getting this plugin to work:
If you acquired the game from bethesda.net, or are using the German language, NoGore game version, please be advised these versions of the game are not supported!
This mod breaks the initial character creator at least for me. When I had it on the done and next buttons simply didn't show up so there was no way to exit the creator screen. I disabled it and it immediately works again.
For me, as of right now ui's such as lockpicks and caravan won't show up; they're invisible. I did a fresh install of NVSE (ver 6), have x86 c++ installed, and manually installed. Any ideas?
If you are having trouble running the plugin on linux, like the mod author said, install Visual C++ 2015-19 x86 Redistributable. You'll have to use winetricks to install it. Using winetricks on a steam managed prefix for a game is a pain by its self. I would recommend using protontricks, a program designed to use winetricks on proton prefixes. If you don't know how to install protontricks just look at its Github.
This worked for me in getting the plugin to not instantly crash my game at launch.
My protontricks was being a bit weird but this is the steps I took
Install an application > Cancel > Install a Windows DLL or component > vcrun2019...etc. > Ok > follow the prompts, mine came up with mismatched checksums, I continued anyway but at your own risk and such.
This should get stickied - as people are surging back to Fallout w/ the show out (and many using it on Steam Deck) folks are hitting this with the mod. Like, I get that it's literally listed as a pre-req (VC++ 2015-2019) but this setup set of instructions using protontricks is magic for updating your proton prefix :)
I followed your method, but Proton 8.0-5 didn't work for me. I switched to GE-Proton8-4 though and that did the trick. If anyone else has problems after following these steps, try a different proton version!! It can be different for every person, it seems.
I'm playing and modding on steam deck(that runs on Linux), this already makes my case very unusual, but still, I must have some other mod that keep popping in my screen every time it loads the games or a saved load, saying that it requires 2.30, but as far I've tried the 2.30 simply doesn't work, the game close right after its start, older versions work just fine, but since i need 2.30 older version are almost pointless, anybody having/solved this same issue?
The mod is installed and it "works" but it seems the grenade icon from the grenade hotkey mod is position in the same spot as CND, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both manual and vortex, absolutely no changes whatsoever
If I have downloaded the Script extender by putting it into the files, does that mean I have to download this mod through the files, or can I just use Vortex, I prefer to use Vortex hence why I used it for this, but I am worried this may not work properly.
Ff you can't run this on Linux, switch to proton 7 (it worked for me, before the game would close as soon as i launched it in mo2). If that doesn't work, I honestly don't know.
i don't know what has caused this issue but my game won't launch suddenly, through testing i've found this to be the cause. I did a fresh install of NVSE and this but still won't launch. i'm using a MO2 Through the steam Deck. currently no mods are active but the issue continues.
Same thing just happened to me on my deck. I'm hoping to avoid a fresh install due to my mod list being huge, but having this active, my game won't launch (even with a manual install).
Maybe try an older version. 2.30 and 2.25 doesn't work for me. With version 2.20 however my game works. Running on Arch Linux though so not sure if it works for steam deck as well.
I fixed this issue by downgrading the proton launcher to the 7.0-6 version of proton via compatibility settings, no clean install or UIO degradation needed. works so far with the newest version of UIO. Hope this helps.
Edit: If you're using STL for MO2, rather than the linux installer here, this method probably won't work for you. I would recommend using the linux installer instead simply because it's a lot smoother overall. You can also just use Proton-GE, as this includes a newer version and seems to work as far as I've seen.
sadly did not work for me, 2.2 it is, i hope that vui+ doesnt keep bitching at me
so Update, nothing worked, vui+ still bitches theres no UIO installed, M.U.X still crashes the game on load, as does NVSE patch +, and big guns skill.
-tried moving to proton 7.0 -tried manually installing both in MO2 and in the games directory's correct folders -tried doing the suggested ui mod installation method
im not reinstalling this game with 180 mods installed, ill wait for proton experimental to get its head out of its ass, or a miracle fix from M.U.X, VUI+, or UIO, till then they all disabled, plus the other two game crasher mods
Update 2, got it working, this whole time it was JIP NVSE plugin, rip proton 7 trick does work

In order to install Visual C++ 2019 (the OP says 2015-2019 but I just installed the last one at it works) I used prototricks.
It works like a charm with proton 8.0-5 as compatibility mode and last version of UIO.
Now I can zoom with scopes like a boss.
I spent hours trying to get it work, if only I thought looking in the discussions sooner lol.
The fix was so easy, I'm dumb lol

Edit: 2.2 version works, but as you said the newest version stopped working all of a sudden just a couple of days ago
