The art was probably made in a higher resolution and downscaled to save game space lol. This hardly seems like it's going against the artist's intentions.
Most just upscale it without finetuning or hand edits in a generic upscale algorithm of your choice. This usually ends up in smaller details getting lost or looking incorrect, such as small text.
I'm assuming it will do whatever happens when you play regularly in 21:9. Now that I have an ultrawide display, though, I'm more than happy to take a look into it (once I reinstall FNV).
Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to issue an update in the next day upscaled using a more contemporary model (ESRGAN instead of Waifu2X) with options for both 2x and 4x larger (for those with 4K displays), and both 16:9 and 21:9 aspect ratios. A pillar boxed ultrawide version is definitely on the cards, but do you think there's also any interest in a cropped version? Obviously some of the loading screens will lose some significant elements (i.e. the desktop will lose the typewriter) but it's still possible to crop it and have it look decent, I think.
I'm pretty sure the crash was not this mod, as I just tested it. It is compatible, but it does replace the loading screens added by TTW so you wont be seeing them if you use this as well.
