About this mod

This is a simple mod that replaces the vanilla radio songs with new songs that are all under a Creative Commons License. This is mainly for Let's Players and Streamers to help them get around being DMCA'd or having their videos claimed. Now also silences radios and jukeboxes.

Description:

This is a simple mod that replaces the vanilla radio songs with new songs that are all under a Creative Commons License. Mr.New Vegas remains unchanged so he will still make references to the original songs, but there isn't much I can do about that (right now). I tried to make each song fit with the one it was replacing in tone, tempo, and overall theme. The only songs this does not replace are the NV original songs (sung by the Lonesome Drifter) and the classical music (which to my knowledge is not copy-written (if it turns out it is, I will also replace that). All of that said, I did find myself in quite a few cases liking my replacements more than the original. Also as of v0.2 all jukeboxes and radios that are vanilla or based off vanilla should be silent. This was the only way I found to make them compliant. There is also an optional .esp which does the same  thing to Fallout New California

Lore:
Yes, this incredibly utilitarian mod has some lore to it. Its much more of an in universe explanation for why Mr.New Vegas might be constantly calling these songs different names. Mr.New Vegas has been running for well over 200 years and has had to contend with inconsistent power supply, frequent EMP's (relative to the 0 he was designed to deal with) and 0 maintenance. File corruption and archive invalidation and the like would be rampant. So Mr.NV did what AI's do, he adapted. He did his best to piece together what he could about the few songs he has left, and although we know that he is wrong, neither he nor the inhabitants of the Mojave Wasteland (save one immortal old coot locked up in a tower) have any idea. This would also explain the relatively limited number of songs. As for the non-NV Radio songs, few of these have lyrics, and I don't believe any are referenced with dialogue anywhere, plus I feel my replacements fit NV's feel much better.

Disclaimer:

I own none of the music in this mod. That said all of the music is under a Creative Commons License. None of the songs have been edited or changed by me in any way. The files themselves were edited so as to allow the mod to work. All information about the songs is still contained within each file and are also referenced bellow. Additionally, I am not a lawyer, nor have I consulted with one. I have done my very best to comply with all licensing and regulations. If however, I am found to have violated any copy right or Creative Commons laws, I will comply as soon as I am physically capable.

Support:
I have not had the chance to play long with these songs, so edits are likely to come. Please report anything unexpected here. If you encounter any silent songs, please let me know. They are not hard to fix; I just need to know what song isn't playing. Telling me the name that the song would have had is fine.

Compatibility:
This is a simple mod and should be compatible with everything. Obviously if you have a mod that adds more songs, this will not replace those. I am currently working on something for New California (if it needs it).
