Since you ask: Because Really AVWD contains meshes for a lot more object types than TVWD, packaged to let you choose which ones to install (only Ruins and Forts on a low-end PC, lots more on a high-end), and with all the meshes reduced/optimized for better performance.
People who claim TVWD has less performance hit tend to compare TVWD's 40 visible objects with a complete, full installation of RAEVWD which makes many hundred objects visible, so of course TVWD will have better performance then - but if you compare apples to apples, RAEVWD has best performance, and also lets you choose the whole fruit bowl if your PC can handle it.
I spent a few hours last night testing ALL the VWD mods that are on this site to see if I liked them better than this tried and true one.
I didn't.
Grab this and the add-on packages for it, Chapels and Extras. There is some fps hit but for the quality over all the other vwd mods, tis worth it. This is the only way to explore.

Could you fix it?
I didn't.

Excellent Mod. The completeness is amazing.
Pity I never got it to v1.0 but life goes on.
