I know this is 5 years later but would it be possible for you to make it accessible for Special Edition pretty please? <3

Absolutely love this guy! I have an old computer so a lot of the NPC revisions don't work well on it (texture issues). But yours works well....and looks awesome, especially with the green eyes.

I haven't tried to marry him yet, but I'm not worried about bc I married the old fugly Ahtar before just using the command.

    Thank you for sharing!

Yup this mod needs an update.

I tried the green eyed version.
Instal - loot and bashed patch no change.

After that i installed the brown eyed version.
Again the loot and the bashed patch.
This one works! Made a nice before an after pic for you.
    Did not check the marriage.

    Greetz.

higonsunday, I cannot get ahtar to respond to the amulet of mara to marry, I already did his quest, got him as a follower for a long while (even tried the setrelationshiprank command you described on the desc text) and nothing, I can't get him to have the "interested in me?" option on his dialogue. Any clue on what I'm doing wrong? other chars respond to the amulet and I have no mods that alter marriage on my game.

EDIT: I used the command "addfac 19809 1" and finally he recognized the amulet....strange, but it doesn't matter, at least I could get him to marry lol. Maybe this is because I met him on my current save before installing the mod? I dunno.

Oh man, I'm looking it up now and it looks like I was mistaken and he's not a vanilla marriage candidate. I'm going to tell you a secret: I actually made this mod over a year ago for personal use and just recently got around to sharing it, so it looks like I added the marriage faction for him and forgot about it. I'll double check it as soon as I get a chance to make sure everything is in order. It may have just conflicted with something in your save file and the changes to his marriage candidacy didn't register............ or I didn't include it in the mod properly.

Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention! I'll make sure to credit you if I end up needing to update to v. 1.1.

Oh, no problem, at least I got around it. Maybe you should include in the description the "addfac 19809 1" command to make him react to the amulet of mara. I've been seeing your ahtar on the creator kit, and you included him on the marriage faction, wich confused me a LOT more. Maybe it's just a bug or conflict on my save, who knows. Anyway, at least I got him as a husband. Gotta love to see the foul mouthed badass executioner cooking for you on the house lol.

EDIT: Oh crap, you already included the command on the description, I need more coffee.

Haha, no worries. If not for your message I wouldn't have thought to include that bug in the description, and I'm sure you're not the only who who would have had the same problem. So I appreciate you bringing it to my attention.

I did peek in the files and it looks like the marriage faction is where it needs to be, so it must have been some minor conflict with your savegame. It happens; lord knows I've spent a lot of time trying to fix weird follower bugs in my own playthroughs haha. I hope you and Ahtar have many years of fun adventures together!

Open the console, click on Ahtar so he's selected, type in the console command "addfac 19809 1" and hit enter. That should do it!

    Where to find him?

In Solitude; from the description: "Ahtar sleeps in Jala's house every night, visits The Winking Skeever most evenings, and spends his days working in the Castle Dour dungeon... Some players may have difficulty finding Ahtar after Roggvir's execution. If you can't find him in Jala's house, the Castle Dour dungeon, or the Winking Skeever, just enter the following console commands to warp him to your location:
      prid 198B0
      moveto player"

Is this compatible with Specialized Followers? Because I love specialized followers, but this is really shiny

I'm really not sure if they work together actually. You could try downloading and loading this mod after Specialized Followers in your load order, and then see if his combat behavior changes. If it still works, great! If not you'll have to pick between pretty Ahtar or better-fighter Ahtar.

I never even noticed the guy in my previous playthroughs. I just assumed, after the execution in Solitude, that he'd literally disappear. I never even noticed how horrible he looked, either.
Oddly, on my current character, I haven't even been anywhere near Solitude (city icon is undiscovered, lol) and this save has been going for almost 90 hours. What better time to try this mod out :-)

He looks awesome, btw. Really nicely done.

Edit: I had to go to Solitude last night, for the MQ, so watched the execution, from the "tfc" perspective. He looks pretty much like the images here, which is great.
I haven't recruited him yet. Will do soon, though

Thanks so much for the endorsement and the message. Ahtar is definitely overlooked as far as Skyrim followers go so it's nice to hear that someone else liked it. And I don't know how you managed to avoid Solitude for 90 hours! That's the thing about Skyrim though, every time I log in with the intention of getting some missions done I end up dicking around and catching butterflies for 3 hours haha.

This is great. Would it be possible for you to release him as a new, standalone follower though? Due to roleplay reasons, I'm not very comfortable with recruiting a headsman for my current character.

I don't know that I'd have time to make a new standalone character, unfortunately. I think my work on this mod is pretty much finished.

But personally I bet your character could turn him away from his current, violent path with a little effort and guidance. (And since there's only one execution in the game, at the very beginning, and his personality softens a little with marriage, I see some room for character development...)
