It'll probably take me a day or two of looking at the armor in different scenarios for me to fully like or dislike this set, but so far.... it's the best one I've used. I've had an array of colors prior to this mod and the elven armor never really appealed to me until now. Fantastic job!! Only thing.. still undecided about whether or not I like how the female armor looks. It's a bit different than the male armor. For example the helm isn't the plumed, redone orcish one like the male and the cuirass is missing the design on the chest, but I kind of like that they are different. I'll endorse when the hour timer is up. Thanks for the mod!
Edit: Endorsed! I have this armor set on my female toon and my male follower and after running around awhile the darker colors of the helm, gloves and boots seem to stick out like a sore thumb. I mixed and matched your cuirass with the other remaining pieces from Vykum's Elven Armor Steel and Gold mod: http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=755
I used the silver and gold variant. Now that I've had some time to look at the two of them side by side, I rather like how the male and female cuirass are different. They compliment without being cookie cutter. If you can make weapons to match, including arrows and quiver, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
Took me a minute to really appreciate it. Now I can't get enough of it. Really reminds me of something a Aztec Jaguar High Priest would wear. My friend is from Chiapas, Mexico, and he thought this was actually someone's attempt at an Aztec Priest armor. There is one in Oblivion that looks a bit like this, I think a female only version though.
Really a different and high class look after the last set of textures I was using.
Really looks bizzare on the Thalmor guards, now the embasy has a really shamanic vibe going on.
Nice work, I will enjoy wearing my elven set again.
EDIT-- OK, now that I have had this in game for a day I hate the helmet. I actually do alpha/beta testing for a living, so I am trying to be give some good constructive comments on this.
I think the helmet of the elven set matches this armor set a lot better than the one you made from the orc mesh. It just doesn't look right, and it clips like crazy with the neck and pauldrons of the cuirass.
I think just giving the helmet a nice shiny finish or making it match the main design on the cuirass would be a lot better idea. The elven helmet already has the wings and head of an eagle, no need to muck about with a new helmet.
I do like the idea of the fur and plume, but not the way I see it implemented now.
I am just using the cuirass with the Kokomoo retextured helmet, gauntlets and boots.
I just posted a picture for everyone to get a look at.
Took me some time to find matching pieces that looked good with the cuirass, but I did it.
Check out my set I made, looks pretty good now, IMHO. Just check my profile, for some reason I can't post pictures on the threads right now.
This looks good, enzero! I actually like the plume addition. One thing that always bothered me in particular is the fact that the gilded armor looked exactly the same as the regular armor (for shame, Bethesda!).
It'll likely have to wait until the construction set, but if the gilded armor and the regular armor use different .nif files (or if you could change an item's .nif), perhaps you could replace the gilded armor with this (or vice versa)? Just a thought, keep up the good work and nice mod!
