Retirement from Skyrim Modding (September 2017)

After some touch and go since the Skyrim Special Edition release, I’ve decided to hang up my modding hat on Skyrim. I have enjoyed the game immensely over the years but my interests have since moved on.

All of my mods that I am the SOLE author of that use OPEN assets are open to anyone wanting to translate, edit, pick apart, derive, fix, patch, release to other sites, and port to any system/platform SO LONG AS THE FILES ARE NOT BEING SOLD UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE FOR ANY TYPE OF CURRENCY. All I ask is that I am credited as the creator of the original mod. If I am not the sole author of a mod or the mod uses assets that require permission from another author, you MUST contact them for written permission to perform any of the above actions.

Feel free to PM me with questions. I will occasionally lurk the site and answer questions on my mod pages as well.

Thank you for all the fun times!

Can you make moths in different colors show up at the same time?

Not without adding multiple types of moths to the game which is already covered by 101BugsHD. If you want moths to show up in different colors, give 101BugsHD a try!

Can you make moths change colors in-game?

To my knowledge, this is not possible. The colors are bound to the mesh of the moth and meshes can't be swapped out while the game is running.

I don't see any glow around the moths! I can see them in the dark but the color looks like a flat overlay.

The glow you see in the pictures is due to ENB. Real glow effects (like on a torchbug) are actually a part of the model which is beyond my ability to create. The overlay you see is exactly that; it's just a texture placed over the normal texture that ignores the game's lighting effects so you can see it regardless of how dark the environment is.

Hi, they look great, thanks. but I have to uninstall it since I started to notice that those butterflies die on their own when the character is near. The only thing that has helped me is to find the wings on the floor thanks to the color change. I hope it doesn't affect the vanilla butterflies when uninstalled

    Hi,really good mod.
Can you please make a compatibility patch for the "High Spawn" version on 101Bugs?

What does the "NW" stand for in the choices?

I don't know where a "NW" is used in the files, at least I don't see any on my end.

I think it means something like No Winged Alchemy Ingredient change. It's in the foMod xml.

Lesi123, could you add a link to the fixed version of 101 Bugs?: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71499/?

Your patch will work with it as well since I checked in xEdit and the only changes made are to the mesh path location.

Ah, I see now it's in the 101BugsHD files. Arahat, you're correct in that it simply doesn't add a colored glow to the different wing ingredients. And yes, I will go ahead and add that link to the mod page. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

With the launch of SSE, I'm dipping my toes back into Skyrim modding so I can port over as many mods as I can. This is a very real possibility, but one that will take time.

I really like this mod. I often find myself reinstalling it just because i like to change the colour of the moths every now and again. Would you be willing to make a version that adds different coloured lunar moths rather than it being a replacer for one type?? Or do i really have to use the willow101 bugs mod to get variations of moths?

So I've tried this mod in both the Bugs101 and standalone versions and I really love it and think it adds some great eye-candy to nighttime settings ^_^
Currently I'm playing without Bugs101, but one of my favorite features about having it was that there were several differently-colored Luna moths at once.
Would that be possible to implement without Bugs101? Like could you upload an optional file that allows Luna moths to randomly spawn in different colors? Or is that hard to do?
    Anyway, great mod

Sadly I cant see any moths in the night.
It either that I used MO to install it, or the ENB I use. I think it is the Sugarsweet ENB (what a name..) but I cant figure out what the problem with that would be.
When I played skyrim a year ago I had no trouble with this mod so I guess it has to be the ENB

If you have a mod that replaces the mesh of the moth, you won't see the glow. You might have something overwriting the model.

I first want to say. I really like this mod. It makes the moths look WAY cooler at night. It actually look pretty cool to see them fluttering around. Now, with that said. It is pretty intense, a neon type of color. Would it be possible to make a version alittle less intense. Also, could you make it so that they radiat a faint amount of light of the same color as they are?

The glowmaps are actually already toned down, but your graphic settings and computer hardware play a heavy roll in what they look like in-game, especially ENB. As for adding radiating light, that's something that would have to be added to the mesh of the moth (similar to the torchbug) vs replacing or adding textures, which is sadly beyond my abilities.

When customizing an enb, do you know what parameters I would use to add more glow?

Honestly I'm not sure, I suppose it depends on your computer hardware. I used the default settings of RealVision which is what I took the screenshots with.

It's the little things in Skyrim that make the difference. So cool to see these flying around at night
