apparently this mod has issue now ? if its the case and someone want to update fix it go ahead i am not a modder i just did a simple transfer to SE edition just give me a headup and post your link in this sticky i will remove my mod eventualy in favor to the new one
Downloaded the mod on the current version (1.6.1170) to see if I could figure out what was broken, only it's not broken for me. Tested it on a silver ore vein and it started extracting immediately, extracted 3 ore and a ruby before the vein was depleted, further casting gets the message "This ore vein is depleted", seems to be working fine, same as always. Haven't had a chance to test it on stalhrim or heartstones yet, but at least so far, I'm not seeing anything wrong.
I love the idea of this mod, however i cannot get it to work. The spell is there and i can learn and cast it but it never extractes anything i have tested multiple veins including hearthfire ones and checked for conflicts. I can only assume it is because of updates since release or because of AE. If anyone knows a fix I would love to know.
This spell is fantastic! I no longer have to choose between wearing out my fingers with rapid-fire pickaxe strikes or sitting through the slow mining animation. Plus, I felt pretty stupid as a mage character using a pickaxe. So counterintuitive.
Anyways, extracting the ore from the rock takes about 2 to 2 1/2 seconds of concentration spellcasting, and that's it. Three new pieces of ore in my pocket and I'm done (I saw someone in the comments say only one, but it gives all three). I abso-freaking-lutely love it!!
You can buy the spell tome from adept alteration spell sellers i.e Tolfdir or u can find the spell tome in Halted Stream Camp next Transmute spell tome.
Or you can use the console command: help "Spell Tome: Extract" 4 > it will give you the id and then simply Player.additem <Spell Tome ID > 1
With all due respect, I'd like to take a stab at making this mod give proper experience and make a few modifications to the spell itself. Of course, if that's all right with you buder5.
Edit: I think I bit off a bit more than I can chew. I wish I understood how to make a magic spell increase a skill set.
If you end up doing this, let me know. That would be perfect.
If it helps you at all, with Complete Crafting Overall Remastered I can gain smithing experience while utilizing the Extract Ore spell. Basically granting a set amount of static Smithing xp per ore "drop". Maybe by switching out smithing for alteration experience that may help you? Just food for thought, best of luck.
I'm not a 100% sure, but combining this mod with Complete Crafting Overhaul does seem to give XP. I was mining a stone quarry and after a bit my smithing leveled up. -Edit; It also works to give fossils from Fossil Mining -Edit2; yup, CCO gives xp for mining with this spell
-Edit 3; Even the debris from Castle Volkihar Rebuilt can be cleared with this spell, you don't even need to have a pickaxe in your inventory for that.
