I know some people have been asking about reducing the experience gain for the tanning rack and the smelter but it appears to be impossible as it is hardcoded in the game which means there is nothing i can do about it unless the SKSE64 is out.
Eh, if you want to actually start modding your game, use Mod Organizer 2. If you just want a few basic mods, you can copy the necessary files to your Skyrim Special Edition/Data folder and see if it works.
Fun fact: With Immersive Jewelry this mod gives you unlimited smithing exp, smelt some gold bullion (10 gold bars, since gold ingots become bars instead with that mod you'll need 20 gold ore, be it mined on its own or mixed with iron and silver ore and the transmute spell.) Then convert that bullion into 40 ring shanks, then back again into gold bullion, (even better as the two swap places in the crafting menu, so you can just keep clicking the same spot or hitting enter.) you'll get tons of smithing exp each time with no loss of materials. You'll hit 100 smithing in no time, make the skill legendary and do so again and again for infinite levels and perk points.
10/10 mod combo, would endorse again. Spiffing Brit would be proud.
This is working for me and I am using and it is working fine. I am also using Hephaestus, Wet and Cold, Frostfall, Weapons and Clothing Fixes and Armor and Clothing Extension. I've run it through SSEEdit and can't find a conflict or errors with the furniture header with any of the other mods? I'm also using experience, true start and experience multipliers for my playthrough. I hope this helps someone else.
I just installed this mod and used the tanning rack and smelter in a custom home and gained experience from both. Those who are not getting experience from this might want to check if other mods conflict.
Great mod but it only works for me when using smelters or tanning racks in the cities. It does not work when I use a tanning rack or smelter in a custom home.
