In retrospect, if Aela treats everyone from the lowliest beggar to the most pompous merchant as capable of fighting off a giant, it may explain why the citizens or Whiterun are so eager to throw themselves at vampires and dragons.

Aela is my first crush in Skyrim so back then, I started a new game just to get a positive response from her.
Only to figure out that the Giant will have a ton more health when you play in Legendary...

This is a good mod though. It adds a depth to the dialogue, a well-placed rebut. To be honest Aela is a little whiny especially when you marry her and you live with her anywhere but Proudspire Manor.

Love the change, but it's hard to give up an esp slot for it. An esl version would be much appreciated if possible.

Definitely wasting an esp slot away for this. Shut your horker mouth up, Aela!

    requesting a 4th option (a little dialogue):
Aela: (her usual your no help)
    Dragonborn: your a mercenary right.
Aela: a Companion, no mere mercenary [Growl]
Dragonborn: so an overpaid mercenary, and your getting paid to deal with the giant, I'm not part of your group and thus don't get paid, do  your work yourself or are you too lazy to do what your paid for...
    Aela: [Growl] [backs off]

For anyone who doesn't care about using the choice is yours, this is perfect. Or for people who use it, but still want to be able to tell her off.
Funnily, I've only run into that line once, and that was because I was stopping to pick every single plant and didn't really realize that was a fight. First game.

..also, it is entirely possible to miss the encounter completely, run into them by the giant on the way back form Mirmulnir, and tell her "Oh yeah, I was busy with a dragon you twit."

Perfect for a true Milk Drinker playthrough. j/k

I think everyone missed this giant when they first played.

The first time I played Skyrim, I have to admit that I spent hours reloading my save just to see if I could make it to the giant in time to be able to at least get one swing in before it was killed. In all of the years I've played, I think I may have succeeded once or twice. XD

Well that`s why a true North also learns how to use a Bow
I always get the Positive answer "You handle yourself well"

When you know that the scene with the giant is coming up set your difficulty to legendary. Just don't forget to reset it. You'll be sure to get at least one hit. The companions are essential so they don't mind.

You can cheeze it by dialing up the difficulty and then sprinting to join the fight. It makes the giant last longer.

There's actually a pretty easy way to get to the giant without cheating/mods at all. From Riverwood, RUN all the way as straight as you can, cutting/jumping across all terrain toward the farm the giant is at, so you come out over the rise behind the farm, with Honningbrew to your right. Of course, you'd have to have some Stamina potions to run all that way. Run at the Giant and get your 1 hit in. Then Aela greets you positively. I do it just about every new game.

Strange thing is, I did just that, my exclusively bow using character managed to one shot the giant (including the kill cam following the arrow) after taking that Riverwood "shortcut" and afterwards Aela still had her usual "that's taken care off, no thanks to you" speech. I was confused about it, since I did give them the helping hand, but still got that negative attitude. Really weird. Perhaps bows don't count or something? I don't know, Aela herself uses them, afterall she's known as Aela the Huntress. Weird.

That's strange, because I'm using a bow, arrived in time for the final shot (with kill cam and stuff) and still got the negative attitude from Aela.

For it to count you must land at least one hit before the killing blow.

      Late entry - I know...

Over time - while making slight alterations in my approach to the giant fight - I have noticed that you need to be a little closer than max range with a bow shot. I cannot count the number of arrows I've pumped into the giant - before he began to stumble and fall - and still hear the bitching Aela commentary.
The other annoying thing is the courier stopping you before you can make it to the giant while delivering to " ... your hands only", the notice of a museum opening up in Dawnstar to all travelers.

Thanks for the mod ! Aela needs to chill out!!!

This is a better option than the "Well go screw yourself then Bitch." That I'm always thinking when she talks to you.

    lol
I think this is awesome. Even though I loved this chick, she was my first wife and I never minded the companions quests. I always made sure as soon as I got within loading distance of that area, to sprint over and get at least one arrow in that giant. Never had a problem doing so, as many mentioned below, unless I wasn't paying attention. Anyway, thanks for the mod! <3
